Hey, I tried unplugging my wii at 50%, 60%,70% and 80% during the updating and not the test flashing and I still can't get the Wiikey to glitch out on me. Is there any other way to disable it?

Dude, its the second test not the first. otherwise ur wiikey isnt installed correctly.

yea i did it on the second test, when it says do not turn off the power etc etc
i wait til about 70% and unplug, but the wiikey is still working fine... i can play all my backups still...

I used the 1.9b update and pulled the plug around 70% during the update portion as was stated earlier, and the wiikey quit working as far as playing burned games,updates, ect. but SSBB US retail (purchased)version still would not work, and then I had to reset the WiiKey using the recovery disk and a few reboots to get the ability to play my burned games again.Any other Ideas?

I NEED HELP AND THIS FORUM DOESNT HELP. noone ever answers me. please someone who cared please help me!
I have A USA WII with wiikey. last month when i downloaded smash bros jap. i ran the update 100% it semi brciekd my wii settings and i cant go online or get into my settings. I baught smash bros USA retail and it wont read the disc. if i do disable my wiikey how do i unbrick my settings? PLEASE HELP PLEASEPLEASEPOLEASE

Guys my Wii is semi-bricked right now and I was hoping on using SSBB to fix the problem but now I am reading that is may not fix it. My Wii got semi-bricked because I stupidly put in a PAL version of SMG and let it update my system. Does anyone know of a game post SMG that will fix my semi-brick if SSBB will not. I plan on trying SSBB tonight when I get home.

Followed the eject method using 1.9B for Brawl by unplugging at 70 percent the second time around. I can confirm that it did work as to disabling my WiiKey and Smash Bros did load. However, when I went to play it it froze at the "Now Loading..." screen. This kept happening after about 10 tries, so I recovered my WiiKey with the Recovery CD. Now I'm trying again and it won't disable my WiiKey when I unplug (it will still read backups). Is there any reason why it has to be right at 70 percent?

I'm having the same issue with the Now Loading Screen... I've made it passed that screen once and was able to play the game, but then when i tried again it got stuck ad the Now Loading Screen... I tried tapping the Wii which made it go passed that screen, but it just get stuck somewhere else...
and for some reason I can't Recover my wiikey, I burned the padded 1.9b recovery disc on a DVD+R at 6x using Nero, does that make a difference?

Did you follow the recovery instructions? Put the disk in and reset and leave it alone for 3 minutes or so then turn it off, then update. I wonder if the loading issue is a problem with the eject method or our actual drives... fingers crossed that it's the eject method! Hoping there's a new update to the firmware soon so I don't feel like I'm gonna break my Wii to play Brawl. I gave up trying to get it to work and am now watching Spitzer trying to explain why he's screwing hookers :-D

OK SO I JUST ORDERED A WIIKEY BUT THIS IS ALL SO CONFUSING. THERE'S SO MANY POSTS I AND SHORTENED WORDS THAT I'M NOT SURE WHAT TO DO. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHAT I NEED TO DO TO GET IT WORKING? BESIDES INSTALLING, I JUST WANT TO KNOW THE UPDATES AND WHATEVER ELSE I NEED SO I CAN PLAY SUPER SMASH BROS. BRAWL. PLEASE HELP ME EVEN THOUGH IM NOT SPECIAL.

I got mine working fine, I was at 1.9g, used the 1.9b disc pulled out during second update at 80% and I am playing as off right now the game, so I got this working, just waiting for WiiKey team to release a fix for this problem.

omg here we go again... i got a new modchip a month ago.. and now i did the "corrupt your wiikey" method with the 1.9b update disc to get the original english brawl to work. that worked perfectly, actually. but my friend (which his username is 4ndy, by the way :-p) wanted me to test the recovery to be sure he can do it without worrying about breaking his wiikey. i did that with the 1.9b recovery disc, which also worked fine. i told him it works and a little while later i corrupted my wiikey again using the 1.9g disc (since you cant do the corrupt method with the same firmware your wiikey is on, which mine was 1.9b again) so i can play brawl. but then i wanted to backup my games using the wiikey disc! so i tried recovering it using the 1.9b recovery disc like last time. i tried it 3 times and it still doesnt work! help?

Download.
Burn.
Play.
I put my disk in and it never even asked to update.
Use good media.

Would anyone know what the issue is if this situation happened:
Had latest version from SMG Firmware installed, Wiikey updated to 1.9g so I could play that game...
Tried other games, also worked just fine.
Updated to 3.2U, nothing reads except originals. It's like the Wiikey chip just "turned off".
Tried Config 1.2, 1.3, hacked, recovery disc, nothing shows up on the Wii Menu.
Any ideas on what to do from there?

Oh about my question above, I've always used some cheap media, DVD+R. It has worked for every game I tried, even the Manhunt 2 copy I had inside the Wii while I was doing the latest Internet update.
Funny how once the update was done, I clicked on Manhunt to play it and then it loaded, went to black screen and then kicked me back to the menu. That was the last time I ever saw the "logo" for anything other than an original on the Wii menu.
