Of course they plan to ship and not be in short supply,by saying that ur saying MS planned to be in short supply.You are not serious when you say that please tell me. read this link from gamepro.com it talks of how sony is behind in production.Im 100% you will refute in some way just cause thats what ive seen from fans of Sony but hey maybe your different and will listen to reason.as i just said what they plan to do and do are two differnt things.They "planned" to have it standard for the ps3 to have two hdmi ouputs how did that work out? They "planned" to release in the spring,They "planned" to have 1080p standard for both systems which can only be done with hdmi and both ps3 systems dont offer that...follow me here

who cares about an overpriced games system that is over 6 months behind the original launch date. As I have said before there is no war, because there is only one system out right now Xbox 360.

sony never promised a global springtime launch. most of the population believed it would be a japan launch anyway with NA/europe to follow in the fall if not early 2007. so i guess its really behind in japan but on schedule everywhere else. im sure the lack of interest in japan helped contribute, i mean i actually recall reading that 360s were actually still sitting on the shelf, which was the complete opposite in the US. just be happy they didnt try pulling a microsoft and launching premmaturally with a faulty system. bedroom 0 xbox360 1

i think they had 800,000 at month one. thats not much at all.
But they all do sort of the same thing, and that is rearrange what you thought was real, and they remind you of the beauty of very simple things. You forget, because youre so busy going from a to z, that theres 24 letters in between... You turn on... tune in... and you drop out...

Who knows how much sony will launch they are behind in production as i so blatantly mentioned to anubis and he glided over my questions knowing they made too much sense to him.See how he answered and will answer ANY question that puts MS down and none that will show the truth and that is ALLL console have shortages at launch that are in ghigh demand just as MS did and ps2 and son on and so on

haha yep i just saw that and i was thinking its about damn time!Still a good sign that demand is high and fanboys are finnal fading off the ps2 but soon ps3 will be here and it will then be "go" time.War wont be decided til a jan, 2008 cause thats when all console will be out and have their a plethera of games out and avaible and then its time to make ur final choice.BY the time the ps3 comes out the 360 will have over 120gms to ps3's 15 launch titles so they should have a good headstart especially when gears of war hits

I for one would not be surprised if Sony used the price points as a way to lower demand at launch.
Only the truly rich or completely hardcore fans are going to buy it for $500/$600 at launch.
It is launching around the holidays.
Think how many people bought ridiculous 360 bundles or 360s off eBay just to have one?
Not saying this won't happen with the PS3 either, but the reluctance of the widespread gamer community will decrease the chances more.
After the holiday season, they can easily drop the price once their production increases.
Sony is taking a big financial hit from the sale of each PS3 at these price points, so why lose even more money to picky people when they can get the people who love Sony or who don't think money is an issue.
Sony in general has never been a cheap brand. They have released cheaper products into the mass market recently to appear to the general population, but they have also always had their higher end products. They believe the PS3 is a higher end product.
remenber the good days when the internet used to be a reliable source for news that were endeed true.
i said it once and i will say it again ,so far everything is looking wonderfull for sony and playsation.

Thats an interesting way to look at things.Im not a sony fan and dont think positve things are in store for them as far as it comes in the next gen war. They will not be dominated or anything of that nature by any means but they are putting themsleves in a postiion to have fans migrate to their competitors MS and NIntendo. BUt what you just said about pricing and demand could be very true and a great idea as well.
I think ps3 will fall to some of the same scrutiny the 360 has once it launches and that is a let down.people expect so much out of these consoles their just setting themselves up to be shot down.ps3 isnt powerful enough to draw a large distuinshable differnce in graphics or any other feature other than hi-def movie playabck.So people as for now are still expecting something amazing and new and they are just going to get xbox 360 with different games for better or worse and nothing more.Its hard to come to this relaization but even me at this point or on the past consoles when a new console comes out the WOW factor just doesnt stay around for a long time and with that in mind i knew what i was getting with the 360 and was thouroughly impressed.Im looking forward to the competiotion both these consoles will generate.Its all about knowing what ur getting and not expecting ridiuclus things from these consoles.Iknow the 360 has and AMAZING set of games due out later this yr and i will own more games for this console than i have owned total between all my previous systems due to the killer titles arriving this yr alone.
But people your crazy to think that sony wont face supply issues and bugs in the sytsems once they release and luckily for fans of MS that will be over as its just startinf for the ps3.I keep hearing that sony will be shipping "X" amount and they wont have supply issues but to say that your pretty much saying MS intentionally panned to ship in short supply.PS2 shipped and didnt meet demand.It all just doenst make sense especially when sony is already haveing hardware issues and they've got PLENTY of angry game developers who cant even get their hands on a dev kit.I know this will all be sweeped under the carpet and i will be called a fanboy but its just the truth.ANd hey if im a MS fanboy so be it,theyve got a great system AVAILABLE,amazing customer serive,spectacular online service and all of this is available to me now and sony fans are waiting to get the SAME thing minus the CS,and online service.

not everything is release in low number. what are you all smoking? sony hasnt had tourble in the past with much on the short supply side, and even if so it wont be as drastic. look why ms has the suppy they did. they were originally gunna incorperate HD-DVD and a few other things but they decided last minute they wouldnt and release it way to eary for game devs to produce more and better games, it was too late to test efficiently (which caused all the malfunctions plus even if they tested well they would not have had time for the release date they wanted), and then getting their licensee's to produce at such short and unprepared notice. sony is not doing that with the ps3, but they arnt releasing much info the the devs, so the first few games may not take half advantage of the processing power and speed the ps3 can come out with.

thats the anubis i know and love...Ride that Sony pony! No matter what is said to u it is denied with vigor.Ps2's to this day are faluty with their laser readers and thats even after the new altered slim ps2 came out so im not sure what your "smokin" buddy.Yeh and sony was supposed to incorporate two hdmi outputs standrard and howd that go??? So essentially the first ps3 games will blow cause the developers wont have near as much time to work on them as MS did and even MS had a not so strong launch.But i'll hop on board with you xbox 360 isnt next gen,its sucks,it was rushed,Blu-ray is the future.MS should stick to pc's...does that sound about right everyone????

first off, not all lasers were faulty, only those from a specific factory which was solved. it took time for most of the lasers to die so it wasnt discovered in testing. and second, do you really need 2 hdmi? i mean it be cool but do we all have 2 hdtv's that can do 1080p? maybe one. and i do say the 360 is not much for next gen.
but you cant tell me im not wrong when my points against why ms had such a supply and all the system failures they had. its very logical when you look at it. sony is not facing most of those problems if at all. they have had all this time and even have delayed the release to make sure there is most from the console (well thats a pirk accually since they had to wiat for bluray anyway why not remodel). the parts they removed were not really nessesary at all and it saves us, the consumer, the price for something uncared for.

You seem to have far too many answers do you work for Sony?BUtim not going to sit here and feud with you because i have notcied not ONCE have you admitted you are wrong or someone who like MS is right.I had a ps2 2mnths before the 360 came out and it burnt out and i took it to eb and they said it was common and that it was good that i had the replacement warranty. BUt i guess tuve got something to back ur side of the story up stating that was just an freak occurence

im pretty sure you were unluck because most problems have been sorted out, but there still is the minority of failures that will exist in everything. and what should i admit to being wrong about? prove me wrong, give me detail. because ill find resources to anything i back up.

I see you are still on the sony soap box Anubis. This is a premature argument since the Ps3 will not be out until X-mas. Ps3 had better walk on water or it will end up with the BETA, another of sony's short falls. Until then lets play our 360's.

im only pointing out what cause the 360's short supply. everything that is planned in time and managed well comes out nice. that was what ms did not do. im not saying sony wont have problems, but right now there issnt a reason to believe there will be short supply.

So ps2 was badly planned and thats why they were extremely short supplied just as MS was? And right now the ps3 is the exact opposite of planning and managing time well.supposed to release last yr then pushed back to spring then to november.I mean hell yeh that says careful planning.All because they want to make blu-ray(betmax 2) be their trojan horse and gamers or sony gamers will suffer just wait and see.Price for games is not yet known,nor controlers,nor any other accessories.All this adds up to good management i see now.Dev kits arent out to game developers and they are getting pissed and worried and some games have already been scrapped due to the above mentioned im so sure that was planned.They've already lost a billion dollars to the ps3 and its not even out.NOw couple that with the 200dollars they will lose per system and u say they will ship 3 million so do the math on that 200dollars times 3million,yet again sounds like clear and careful planning to me. NOw true they will not lose all the money because of games sell and accessories but they are starting in a MONUMENTAL sized hole with an unproven expensive technology with their MAIN comp(MS) having a yr head start. TOO many top analyst are saying it killed itself and will splinter their fan base bigtime but i'll say it for the last time i NOW see after you've shown me the error of my ways that this is good management.CAn we all thank ANUBIS for helping us feeble minded MS fanboys the light,lets go sell our 360's and buy a Ps3!!! Because every company sets arelease date and plans tomis it,every company sinks a billion dollars into a console on unproven technology,every company purposely pisses off their cash cows (game developers),every company wishes to be behind in hardware only months before release.This is the blu-print to success Sony has shown us now go make copies and go become a bunch of rich entrepreneurs and when we retire and have kids look back and tell the story of how you got the keys of good managment from SONY and ANUBIS!

i love how you keep bring up the release date, how its unproven tech, and the loss of $.
to start here, so what if the release date was pushed back (and i never recall them wanting
t release last year, thats ms only), it was pushed to make time for finalization of bluray
and for testing and ample unit production. it was a smart move, and with all the extra time
alot can be worked out for the best. look at t when we are done. epic is doing the same
with ut2007, they just dont want to release something with problems or crap for play.
also, they will recieve more sales being x-mas time, but then again if u get a ps3 that all
you will get. but hey i'd be happy. either way the release date is nothing but benificial.
and the unproven tech. i do beieve the cell has been showcased in many top of the line
servers, and if its gunna be in their console its gunna have to work or they would be
stupid. also, incase you havnt noticed, the cpu is not really relied on in games much
anyways these days, so if for some reason the cell would not outperform the extra power
would not really be needed. the rsx, little is know about it, but from the demos i've seen it
looks as tho it may outperform the 360's. sure the 360 has free aa, but what is a 5-10 fps
loss if everything is better looking and its still well over 60 fps (the limit of the human
eye).
most of the money they lost is over the cell, and the cell is being used in well more than
the ps3. with applications in cell phones, tv's, military vehicles and computers (yes this is
true http://www.theregister.co.uk/2006/01/22/cell_mecury_army/ you know how the us
spends money on its army..too much), and other electronic devices. they will make their
money back here and well more. that 1 billion was not just for the ps3, incase you all slow.

Anubis I have been reading your comments for a while and trust me on this, neither are you unbiased or do have a status that says so. You ARE a blatant Sony fanboy. I mean no offence(well maybe a little bit) but you really can't think you are not biased.

um ok. so i back up the ps3, in a ps3 forum. for that im a fanboy? issnt that what this thread is for? talking about the ps3? im a fan yes, a fanboy no. if the ps3 really was behind the 360, i would get a 360. but from what i see and hear, the ps3 will outshine it. im not getting a ps3 till i compare both consoles either way, im not stupid. whichever has better games, better looks, and better options will be mine. when the ps3 comes out, if it sucks, my fanship will change.
