the 360 and PS3 are almsot the same in almsot every regard and since the 360 was released early and badly its current games would be even with the new PS3 games that have a bit more polish on them graphic wise.
but all in all when it comes down to it only acouple games will separate the systems...

nintendo is making too much off this console. the wii is not worth too much at all, and most the people who back nintenso are long time fans attached to a company name. id rather buy a psp than a wii, atleast i can take it places and its 3/4's the graphics.
But they all do sort of the same thing, and that is rearrange what you thought was real, and they remind you of the beauty of very simple things. You forget, because youre so busy going from a to z, that theres 24 letters in between... You turn on... tune in... and you drop out...

And a DS has has a better library to so meh they all suck in one way or another.
I'll put the WII a point ahead of SOny and MS but if they dont do something about the dieing art of game control then fck them all renting copying and buying the rare good game used will be what I will do to boycott them.

Anbius do you know what you are talking about?
Do you know that the PSP cannot match PS2 in graphics the onyl reason it looks like it does its running at what 320x180 resolution pretty dam small it's 300mhz and has no more then 30mb ram the gamecube is stronger then that I will gurantee oyu the gamecube has 485mhz already better cpu ram with very very small latency making it faster then DDR1 it uses 24mb 1T sram it has a faster GPU so overall its better while the wii is even better the wii is 905mhz 64mb DDR3 ram and 24mb 1T-SRAM,349mhz GPU

the wii and the PSP are comparable systems neither look great on a big screen both are abotu the same price, but comparing a CONSOLE to a hand held is silly, plus the PSP has a half arsed line up,frankly they are better off scraping the PSP and moving on to a PSP 2 that has 2 nubs and more power, the DS is as oddly designed but at least it has more games and the touch screen makes a awesome analog stick they should make a DS with 3 or 4 screen have 2 touch screens dual nubs FTW *L*
anyway the PSP/DS thing remind mes of the PS of the PSXN64 PS2/Xbox days one system had more power the other had more games.

Id compare the Wii to the 360 and Ps3 why?
Because it is a 7th Gen console and is more powerfull then all the 6th gen ones but not as much as the other 2 but still about 2x more it also has the most powerfull controler if oyu want to say Neither do the Ps3 or 360 have that I find 2 consoles out of every console ever made not inovative and didnt introduce anything and nothing but ports They are
The Xbox 360
and the PSP every other console including the original Xbox gave use something new it was the first console to have a HDD stock.
All consoles from 6th and 7th gen
PS2-First console to have Next Gen graphics
GCN-Had Many Nintendo only tittles that were great like SMS
Xbox-First Console to introduce a built in Mp3 player and stock HDD it was the 6th gens media console.
GBA-The Best handhekd in its era 01-04
PSP-Nothing but a powerfull handheld with mobile phone features and ports of ps2 games feels more like a N-Gage
DS-The most inovative handheld out with its touchscreen
PS3-Packed with Media Features and gives you a Bluray player and a console for cheaper then a Player.
360-Nothing like a ps3 but craper in most areas by a little but in each area.
Wii-Very inovative most inovaitve Home System yet.

MS did bring use of a hard drive to the lime light and they also polished Online for consoles however I hate the pay system they really need some forum of limited online so you can do some MPing for free maybe 10-20 hours a month.
PS2 didn't do much but add onto the PSX the GC pretty much added onto the N64 while graphics have been steadily getting better game control and game play has not, hopefully Nintendo can do soemthign about play control.

innovation is not always whats best. the wii is a sad excuse for a system, but for those who are poor or are worship nintendo still adore it and try to compare it to the other systems. i think no system should be compared to the other, since they are all kind of aiming a bit different. the wii for nubs. the xbox 360 for a "ligher on the pocket at first" experience for much better graphics than last gen. the ps3 for a luxary console with an hd-player built in and easy transfer of pictures, movies, and music, aswell as fantastic graphics.

and some how the mish mash status quo of the 360 and PS3 is some how better? thats BS.....
none of the new consoles are perfect the WII is at least trying to do soemthign with play control however if there are no control options for it (sentivtiy is a must button mapping nice but optional) then Nintendo has failed to bring a revolution.

Another thing I like about the PS3 is the ability to install linux (or dare I mention another type of operating system). sure the PS3 will never replace a proper pc, but it does open up some very interesting possibilities. As I understand it, the current linux distros don't have full access to the PS3 hardware, but if they do in the future I can imagine some amazing possibilities.
With the power differential, would it be possible to run a Wii emulator on the PS3? A current gen console has never been able to emulate another current gen console, but with the Wii so underpowered it may just be possible this time around. Being the morally corrupt bastard that I am, if I were in charge of Sony I would hire away a few select nintendo employees (and have them sign iron-clad confidentiality agreements) to create a Wii emulator and a PS3 version of the Wiimote, upload the emulator to bittorrent and set up a Sony subsidiary in a country with no copyright laws to sell the PS3 Wiimote. Wouldn't that be the ultimate revenge on nintendo for canceling the SNES cd-rom so many years ago. Just a little food for thought.

Sony is asking for some interesting stuff to happen hacks to run non approved stuff and other OS tricks the mod potential of the PS3 is insane the 360 so so.
Nintendo has more a leg up on Protections hopefully it will go better than the GC mods for it re meager but then so are most of the games..

Yes, but what I was thinking was an exact copy of the Wiimote sold from a country with no copyright laws (there have to be one or two left).

Mmmm true sony has the balls but also corperations see things on the world wide so they could sue them even if its legal just because they have moeny to do it like All of MP3.com.
Hell sony dosent like selling consoles to 'unlicensed" regions so meh

the wii to me is like a comedy movie...only good with a crowd. playing the wii alone is boring. ever since the internet channel came out i havent played a game...just youtube. besides wii sports and rayman and zelda, nothing els is really exciting at this point. im guessing that only party type multiplayer games and nintendo flagships like mario, zelda, smash bros, will only be popular...which is typical cuz those were the only popular games in the previous nintendo consoles. i dont see anything worth spending 50 bucks on besides those. im probably going to own maybe not even more than 10 games on the wii. so far i got zelda and cod3(regret). and i buy hella games believe me i own about 70 ps2 games.
left this post via wii.
PS3...it only does everything(that Sony allows it to)

and the PS3 has more games? *rolls eyes* launch systems usealy only have a handful of games if that, the 360 barely has a handfull of worth while games and its been out a year so meh ,now is a bad time to compare the systems fully
the 360 will stay the same and be in its niche the WII about the same if they do a better job on it than they did with the GC's line up then maybe the WII can break the near neck and neck spot it and MS shared during the 6th gen,the PS3 has a long road ahead but as long as the devs jump aboard it will be alot like the PS2 having a waste land of games with a few oasis's here and there...

I agree too
Quote: PS2 didn't do much but add onto the PSX
Sortof but if you remember nearly no PC in 99 could ahve had the graphics that the Ps2 had I remember watching a video of the E3 like a year earlier 98 and the graphics made me drool it really did do more then just an PSX upgarde it was like another evolution of graphics whihc the N64 did last by giving us a first 3D game with everything 100% 3D not a single thing wasnt in 1996 not that long ago we were playign 2D games but the PS2 added onto that again like the 3D adde to 2D the Ps2 introducd more then 90% of the things our games currently use but nopw in a bit more advanced way like it was the 1st ocnsole to use Hardware T&L,Full Frame Anti-Aliasing better Z-Buffer 480p gaming (ED-TV gaming) it inroduced a DVD player built in for cheaper then a normal DVD player at the time so it did do more then you think I think my oppinion the 360 wont be as great as the original I think in the 7th Gen it will be a copy of the gamecube's succes when the Ps3 launches in Austraia and Europe I think teh Wii and Ps3 will dominate thats why microsoft is extending teh warrnty by a year to gain customers if you say its not true they did it 1 week after Ps3's and Wii launch if they werent worried they wouldnt have done it or done it 1 month afet the 360's launch true??????

Please mario games are worth 100% and find a mario game that got under 7.9 in rating's the SM galaxy previews say its the best Mario game made do you think a company would sweat making a game for 8 years always adding and improving on the game if they knew it was garbage? No well guess what nintendo has been spending that long on SMG,I also think SMSB is gonna be great like its past games,If you love a game series you will love it on any console like COD i think the wii version is great so is the ps2 version so is the 360 version and so on the wii versiion also looks better then any 6th gen version another point Zelda:TP was rated best game of 06 ahead of all those other games and Oblivion finished in 7th dam that game was so hyped up i thoiught it would finnish above first! Metroid Prime 3 will be great it has Online,Super Mario Strikers Charged Online Also great countless great tittles comming I think the wii will be a copy of the ps2 in the no of games it has and might match microsoft's online its online gaming starts in March so we'll see!

hmm..I must say anubis, congratulations on such a successful thread.
For now nintendos strategy seems to be somewhat working, though its not the most powerfull and may not appeal to the hardcore gamers but it is the most family friendly system. From what Ive been hearing, nintendo is actually appealing to a much older audience with their family friendly games. Theres is actually elderly people who can try it out as well by playing innovative games like bowling and golf. Nintendo is definately capturing a broader audience, may be not the hardcore gamer but soon a possibility with more mature rated titles to be released along with an online network. and well thats just my take on things.
Peace Out!

ok what nintendo fans should NOT do is get aggressive, because in 100% of the threads about the next-gen console some big headed nintendo fan always ruins it by saying aggressive stuff about the 360 and PS3 that aren't even true. ive seen this in this thread as well, not that im saying the person is big headed, but his signature says some pointless stuff about Sony... one guy said about Mario "would they spend 8 years on the game knowing it was garbage?" well, would Sony spend around 10 years developing the PlayStation franchise if they knew it was rubbish? Im a Ps3 fan, but i dont go around flaming lies about nintendo and 360. but seriously, everyone knows that the Wii is intended for kids/family, 360 and PS3 are for more mature and hardcore gamers. Also, some game franchises cannot make games for the Wii due to the nature of the game and its compatibility with the nunchuk and Wiimote. you won't be able to get many third-person action games, only first-person, because you need to be able to use the Wiimote to control it. imagine playing football on a Wii...sounds difficult init? thats the kind of problems they are going to face with the Wiimote, but otherwise i think its a brilliant idea

the PS3 overall being 15 times more powerful than the Wii, im pretty sure that will happen :)

Eh. The majority of this page is slightly skewed negatively for the Wii (and psp). I've already spotted a couple comments that would be sure to boil the blood of a young Nintendo enthusiast. Console discussions always have some air of hypocracy surrounding each argument, no matter who it is for.
I think all 3 home systems have their strengths, each strong enough to merit the crown in this console war.

Ok I think I have it summed up:
-Nintendo products sell only because of sheer, blind brand-loyalty.
-The Wii is for noobs.
-Ninty Fanboys are inherently worse than their Sony and Microsoft counterparts.
Is that what the general consensus is?
