here is a quote from an interview with Hideo Kojima on Blu-ray. he is highly respected in the business and not some analysis or nut shooting their mouth off.

here is the latest RUMOR on the 360 Zephyr. purely just speculation at this point, but still interesting.

true, probably in part because xmas is over and supply has certainly picked up. i've seen twice now, a local bestbuy had 2 or 3 ps3s available. during the holiday season when i went to ebay's site the most popular electronic was the PS3...

well im not saying your wrong, but there is still another BIG factor to think about when comparing sales between these consoles. that is of course the fact that the ps3 still has not released in europe. we are not talking about a country here, but an entire REGION. ps3 has already sold well over a million units so add another region and im sure the numbers may be a bit closer.
i think part of the wii's success was the timing of their release (xmas) and their supply. im sure most would agree that if sony would have been able to put out 3 million units that all 3 million would have sold. it'll be interesting to see how well the wii sells into 07 along with the ps3. i don't really know too much on the wii or its upcoming games, so i really can't say for sure. what i do know is heavenly sword, motorstorm, warhawk, liar, DMC??, MGS??, and then there is assassin's creed, madden, unrealtourn2007, GTA which are EXPECTED to release within the year. what a time it will be to own a ps3...

I look at 360 witch to me is a Frankenstein of parts (bad cpu/mobo/cooling,limited HD for 100 more,locked in HD ) its jsut....blah
the PS3 is a monster of a different breed but a monster non the less,BR is ok not great but ok,the HDD is god non ps1/2 mem card support out of box bad needs update out of box to fix PSX/PS2 playback and a few other small things that make it annoying the main thing about the PS3 tho is sonys arrogance and their constant lieing and the price just makes me screw sony for the next couple of years.
Copyright infringement is nothing more than civil disobedience to a bad set of laws. Lets renegotiate them.

the wii has such a higher production rate. these numbers mean nothing. only the number after 3-4 years really show anything. plus why do sales mean so much? it doesnt mean any console is less better than the other, or one is more wanted, it just means one is easier to get for more people.
But they all do sort of the same thing, and that is rearrange what you thought was real, and they remind you of the beauty of very simple things. You forget, because youre so busy going from a to z, that theres 24 letters in between... You turn on... tune in... and you drop out...

I bet there is truth to that Zephyr if so then Microsoft is really scared of Sony.Because they have lied so much since E3 this year & last year.They said that there was no need for games to be boosted to 1080i or 1080p guess what that changed...They said there was no need for a Hi-Def player on a game system guess what there a HD-DVD add-on.Now this Zephyr.
Microsoft: Ps3 cant do 60fps on 1080p. Guess what they were WRONG!!!!!

I think what he is trying to say is that Nintendo did a very good job of meeting Demand.With it being a new system and also being released close to the Holidays that why it sold so good.But i would like to see its numbers after the Holidays then when Sony start releaseing killer games Wii sales not going to have that much steam.

I forgot *L* half the time the PS2 and GC look the same to me 0-o I recall hairs in star fox adventure that set it apart from the PS2,if the GC is more powerful they didn't show it alot *L*

But you do know it is more powerfull right it did really show in Resident Evil 4 the GCN version looked better thne the ps2 one.

i was talking about when holidays pass and more games are out. the number will change. the first 10 mill mean almost nothing.
and gamecube always looked better to mena in every game. the colors and textures were better.
But they all do sort of the same thing, and that is rearrange what you thought was real, and they remind you of the beauty of very simple things. You forget, because youre so busy going from a to z, that theres 24 letters in between... You turn on... tune in... and you drop out...

ah I thought it was but was unsure ,while they can do alot of neat stuff with the ps2 the GC seemed to had more umpf in its graphics but sine the GC had only a few worth the while games its hard to tell them apart sometimes the better PS2 titles look almsot as good because they spent allot of time tweaking the graphics on the game.

tilt is better than rumble by far. i dont miss rumble. i used to go hours (at launch) without thinking of rumble, but now a days its weeks. i love the tilt in blazing angles, it adds a new level f realism, like im the accual pilot. i love its minor use in resistance to shake anything off of your body. the wii uses a sensor bar for its work, and its terrible at readng realtime actions. i moved the pointer accross the screen and its a bit slow to respond. also, the sensor bar makes an error where when the pointer should be on the center of the tv, its accually almost at the top of the screen. when i play golf with the wii, the response time from swing to movements is so horrible, if you dont go slow as a snail it wont read realtime and it gets confused. the wiimote has little innovation, its just an estimater as to where you are wit hits sensor bar, and its crippleing without more than 4 usable buttons. nintendo fans always go "omg why doesnt nintendo get this or and or all of it? nintendo deserves all cuz they are teh b3st, mario rulz. wiimote is the alpha and omega at everythign and anything beause its new and nintendo"

the ps3's potential will take another year to unfold. and by xmas 07 and spring 08 we will see titles to diverse the ps3 from its compitition.

Microsoft Rep Says HD-DVD "The Next Betamax"
Ben Kuchera from Ars Technica just got to live the dream. With two Microsoft reps around for tea and biscuits (under the auspices of a demonstration of the 360's 1080p capabilities) he exchanged niceties, locked the door and shook 'em down.
The reps were hit with questions about the 360's HDD (as in, why's it still so small, and where the hell is a bigger one?), the microtransaction "debate" (as in, rape is not fun) and HD output. On the HDD, they were sadly coy and evasive. On microtransactions, they were smugly offensive, offering the frankly patronising quip that "this is a new market".
But it's when they get talking about HD, 1080p and HD-DVD that we get the money shot. When asked whether there'd be a future 360 with an internal HD-DVD drive, one of the reps, Scott Hensen, had this to say:
We don't want to charge customers $200 extra for something that may be the next Betamax.

you cant hate the formats, they still exist dont they? atrac3plus is a wonderful compression codec but its only compatible with sony things. md's are great fore easy rewritable medium storage, but they just arnt common enought and didnt take off so well because mp3 players came out soon after.
i still dont get why people diss something because its didnt become popular. betamax had higher quality video and audio, and the cases were smaller and more durable.

He didn't say that HD-DVD is the next betamax. He said it may be the next betamax. Microsoft claims they can do a lot of things, but Scott Hensen clearly isn't trying to predict the future (or make consumers bet on the future). No one knows how the hd-dvd/blu-ray format war will end, and looking at it right now I wouldn't be surprised to see it go one way or the other. The reality is that HD-DVD could be on either side, and that's what Scott Hensen was saying.
Although I wouldn't be surprised to see another sku after zephyr that will be bundled with HD DVD.
