I just go by the 4.37 when you view the properties of the file.

You are missing indeed something !! Cauze now1 has erver been able to do that, without trouble !!Were did you get the copy from ??
Was it from a torrent, or didi you just dump it yourself ??
Rumor!!
It seems that there will be an update with Rawdump! The update will make it possible to backup a backup disc !! (for people stupid enough that deleted the ISO from there HDD.)

Not an always working method or program, i was lucky to Rebackup Driver again (backuped a backup) succesfully with Nero or Ulrta ISO.
But it didn't work with Transformers tough...

I've seen that for a couple of you guys these drives have worked:
* LG-8164b,* LG-8163b,* LG-8162b,* LG-8161b.
I ordered teh LG-8164b, however my PC doesnt recognize it. Is there an external one, that i can use instead?
Thanks

Hey I just got my rawdump to work today with WarioWare: Smooth Moves and when it finally finished after a painful 3 hours and 44 minutes I look at the bit size and it does not match up to the bit size in the beginning of the forum. To be precise the bit size I got is 4,589,824 KB. So basically I had a bad dump right (lol)? Should I delete this one and try again or do I endure another painful dump session? Thanks guys always good looking out.

You can save the painful dump session for after the "hottest chili cook-off" contest, that is the perfect size. It should only be 4.37 when you look at the properties of the file.

I've just went ahead and bought all the necessary materials to start modding, but I came across a problem with the LG GDR-8164 DVD-ROM...no computer seems to recognize it. I have a laptop, so I am using a 5.25" enclosure to house it, but niether my laptop nor a friends desktop even recognized that new hardware was being connected. Is this a problem with the DVD-ROM or the enclosure? Is there a hardware download for the DVD-ROM, because it didn't come with any CD? (I bought it off of newegg). Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

What position is your jumper located? Mine worked in my 3.25 enclosure on my laptop and in my desktop with no software installed, just plugged and played. It was on CS both times, I believe.

The jumper is located on the back, next to the IDE cable. It shows you three settings, Master (MA), Slave (SL), and Cable Select (CS). Most times Cable Select works, but sometimes you need to change it to Master (if it's alone or the one on the end of the IDE cable) or Slave (if it's on the middle of the IDE cable). You can just take it out and switch it to a different one if necessary.

What? The echo in this forum was so loud from you yelling I couldn't understand what you were saying.
ps- No. Never touched a Mac. Macs make people mad and cause them to yell way too much. I don't need that kind of frustration in my life.

I think I understand, the jumper looks like six prongs arranged in a series of 3 columns with 2 prongs each... how would I go about switching from one to the other though? There was no wire in the enclosure to connect to it. I'm sorry if I don't seem to comprehend this - usually I'm pretty good around computer products haha.

I have a mac and it's super easy. Just open disk utility, click the button burn, choose the image and bam. It's done. I've tried it and it works.

I think he/she means connecting an IDE DVD drive into a Mac computer. I don't know anything about connections in a mac, if they are IDE, it should just work (theoretically)

Yes, there is usually a "jumper", a small device that connects one of the sets of three prongs together (link between the top and bottom prong) This tells the drive what it should be expecting to act like (master/slave) It looks like a little plastic rectangle. I'm not sure if it even came with one, I just plugged mine in and it worked, so I never really looked...

If you have already "dumped" your game to a folder, then you know exactly what to do with the two applications, as you couldn't have done it without them. If you just downloaded an iso, then you don't need to use these programs. They are just for ripping a Wii game using the LG drive listed.

Maybe someone has addressed this already, but are the LG drives listed in the tutorial the ONLY ones that can work to rip/dump a Wii game? I know already I can use any DVD writer drive to actually burn the image onto a disc once it's created by Nero, and I already have a good DVD writer on my laptop. The problem is I'm not sure that any of these LG drives are created for laptop computers!
If I only have a Dell laptop computer, is there no way I can rip/dump Wii games? Do I have to get a whole desktop computer and install a specific LG drive in order to rip/dump games or is there someway to get around this?
Thanks for the help everybody, I just want to make sure of all the details before I send in my Wii to get modded and then find out I have no way of backing up my games myself either!

Yes, it has been addressed many times in this thread alone, but you can get the drive, and get an external enclosure (5.25") and use it on your laptop.

Yes, any DVD writer will be able to burn the games, the LG drive is only necessary if you want to rip your own.
another question. Is it possible to make a copy of a copy without the LG drives. Also, I have a program called ANYDVD, and I can rip just about anything. Is it possible to rip wii games.

No. Maybe you can copy a copy with that, but like the very first post says, ONLY those LG models named can be used to rip original Wii games. The discs aren't standard DVD discs, they are GD-Rom discs, and only the GDR models can read them.
