Hi guys, i just wanted to say how much this form has helped! after some messing around with my router, i was able to go from 10kb/sec to 60kb/sec. That's a great increase for me, and I've just installed bit tornado, i was using a differnt software, i think it was BT9 plus, that was garbage. But i think my download speed can still go higher, because just the other day, one of my download went to 120kb/sec!!! i was like whoa!! anyone know how come that specific one went that fast? thanks for all the help!!!

My other question would be, if i opend ports in my router, do i still need to call my ISP provider to open ports on the modem? I'm using Bell Sympatico High Speed, and I checked my max download speed, is 140. I remember Kei said if it's dialup your max would be 50-60 rite? but is that for high speed dial up too? My high speed is just like cable.

BTW, i'm using wireless connection.

Gotta question guys, on one of my downloads, it's says connected to 14 peers, 0 seeds, but my download speed is like 100kbs, my light is blue. Are my files still being downloaded, or there's somekind of error? I thought green means u'r downloading. anyhelp would be great

Ok guys when u talk abt faster download, r u saying abt thedownload rate or the download speed?

U c sometiimes i get only abt 10kbs for rate but my speed is like in hundreds, so i m currently confused.

N sometimes my rate shoots up to 50kbs but after awhile it crashes to max 10kbs again.

Heya ppls,

Complete newbie here. Was wondering if any one can shed some light on my d/l speeds in bit comet. Have been using bit comet after finding out it was giving me better d/l speeds in Azureus. I have tried everything to increase the speed. I have a 512/128 connection on a D-Link 302G ADSL modem. I have no router that I am aware of and am cosistently getting d/l speeds of like 4-7 on average is there amything I can do to try and get the d/l's at at least 20 even 15 I would be happy at. Any one help please

bit comet and bit tornado are both pretty fast, althought mine runs faster with tornado. and Azureus on mine runs really slow, like 2 kbps. but it all depends on your computer and connection, try them all out, and find the best for you, that's what i did.

Hi Guys,

I have a belkin F5D7230-4 Wireless Router and DSL modem. I have forwarded ports 6881-6999 (UDP and TCP) protocols. I have set up a static IP address (Windows XP Home) but still have the DHCP server enabled. I am always getting a YELLOW light and am getting very slow downloads using BitTornado Shadow Experimental. This is really bugging me now! The XP firewall is completely disabled. Could anybody help please it would be much appreciated.

Cheers,

Mike

Ok, i dont know from personal experience, but apparently some ISP block certain port ranges. My BT ports are set at 20001-20009. Try changing ur port range and see if that helps.....apart from that i dont know.

wow
you all should be maxing out your speeds on torrents.
go into your torrent client as suggested and cap your upload speed to around 80-90%.

if theres only 1 uploader and 1,000 leechers of course your speeeds are gonna be slower than normal.

im on a 50/10mb comcast business connection and i usually max out my download speed and uploading is always maxed pretty quick.

you got to remember just because you go click the link your speed is not gonna max out especially if there is way more leechers than seeders.

and "et1" to answer your question, yes you can still finish a download if there are no seeders, depending on who has what files in the swarm.

make sure your connectable. for example the filelist site, when you download go to the peers for that download and find your name> look to see if you are connectable> if your not connectable well then put 2 people on the same file who are not connectable and your not gonna be downloading from each other.
if your not connectable most all torrent sites have picture tutorials on how to make yourself connectable.
