Has anyone actually tried 1.9s yet? I think I will wait for a bit to see if there are any problems with it like 1.9g had....

I can't wait!!!!

I've updated to 1.9s already.. it made my SMG unplayable which worked on 1.9g beta and SSBB doesn't seem to be working as of yet.. my wii is PAL
For that very reason, I haven't updated yet...

Just wondering, do your originals still work?

Thanks

I know this sounds like a stupid question, but in 1.9s, will the DVD Update Blocker also block updates from games of the same region as you?

Thanks

Once you have made the text file in Notepad, save it, then in the directory, rename the extension from ".txt" to ".bat", and it will automatically do it (assuming you are running Windows).

Did you turn on Dev mode? When I turned on Dev mode and Block Updates, Original SSBB would get to the black screen with loading in the corner, but then get a green shutdown console error. Turning off Dev mode and the original would load. No idea what it does yet, so I'm just going to leave it off.

I'm now @ 1.9s on 3.2E and have ran the 1.9s config.

No problems so far - i.e. all working and I can't say more than that cos I don't have anything to test the new stuff with eg. No disk with update Wii firmware or retail brawl either.

I was confident of no ill effects tbh cos I've never had any issues with my Wii or wiikey or any games since day 1, (apart from getting dupe channels and they are gone now after the remover). So I wasn't worried about trying the new firmware.

So it's business as usual here.

Any update can have an adverse effect on the compatability of some backups. I mention this because ppl always assume "old" disks should always work... Mine do - that's all I can tell ya :)

I'm not sure what it is exactly, but someone on GBATemp said

"Dev Mode: Remaps drive debug commands from 0xFx to 0x2x"

I'm just going to leave it well alone until the config disc is released.

Also, how have you got dev mode on in the first place? It hasn't been released yet...

Sorry, of course. Just me being stupid.

@Daimao

Where did you get the config disc from in the first place, if you don't mind me asking?

Assuming that you are using windows, there are two ways to do this.

1. Open the file, and at the top click File-->Save as. Choose the file type to be all files and name the file with a .bat after the filename.

2. Open My Computer and click at the top Tools-->Folder Options, Tab at the top that reads View and uncheck the " Hide extentions for known file types" tab. Then right click the file you wish to change and rename. Rename the .txt to .bat

@ Rafadawn,

Just to tell you that in the 'Filechop Reminder' at the top of your first post, where it says "paste the following text in the document", I think that you have missed out an 'I' in 'wiikey'.
Just thought I'd let you know as some people will paste it straight in and just substitute '???' for 'PAL' or whatever

He is not missing an "I", the original .iso file that is extracted for the update is misspelled in the filename. Rafadawn has it correctly.

Ok, sorry Rafadawn. I never should have doubted you. I haven't downloaded 1.9s yet, so it just looked like a spelling error. My mistake.

When making an update/config disc, you should GCOS the iso and then filechop it, correct?

No, filechop the iso first (to get it to 1.3gb size approx) and then, optionally, GCOS it.

I have a problem...

I have tried to download 1.9s to have a look, and when I click on the links, either on the first page of this thread, or direct from the wiikey website, I get a page that comes up with lots of random letters and symbols. Please help!

P.S. i'm using my Macbook Pro, running OSX Tiger, if that helps...

Here's a picture:

Does the MacBook come with a program to open .RAR files?

No, but I could still download RARs before, but not extract them. I have my PC for that, but I can't access the internet from it.

Thanks
