how can you bricked your PAL wii with PAL SMG. They are of both the same reqion so if I'm not mistaken, you shouldn't have problem updating your PAL wii with your PAL games.

Strange, the SMG update never did that to my Wiikey on my PAL Wii, update to the 1.9s update and all should now be okay

Worked for me, all is wonderful

I followed this post to make an emulator disc and it worked fine except once I load the disc there's no way to go back to wii home. I end up just turning the whole system off and on again if I want to get back to wii home.

Just curious if this is how it's supposed to work or whether someone knows which controls to press to go back to the home channels? Thanks.

Did anybody run the update from a UK PAL WiiFit disk on UK PAL Wii with Wiikey (1.9g beta loaded) yet and can tell me if there are any problems with playing backup/original games afterwards? My Wii is currently working fine (with SMG etc.)and I wouldn't want to update to 1.9s if I don't have to in order to play WiiFit!

Not long til US release of MK, fingers crossed it has a new update otherwise we may have to wait for Wii Fit's release next month to fix our semi-bricked Wiis!

Dunno if this is old news...but no harm in posting again i suppose...

For all Wiikey Users who DO NOT own a GC Controller like me...we can still go into the Cfg 1.4 to configure our Wiikey settings...

Simple press the Reset Button on the Wii to scroll thru the Menu...and to enter into the settings or change any options in it...simple Press n Hold the Reset button to do so...

Hope it'll help anyone at all..!

Hi All
O.K. Just got WII fit PAL and updated to 1.9s and all O.K.
Just a note I also got the Test Failure message when I updated first time and my WIIKEY is genuine and the connections are sound as I updated to 1.9g previously. However this happenned when I used a GQOS disk to run the update. When a used the padded 1.9s file posted here all was fine. Also I think people are making the mistake of not Selecting BURN IMAGE when trying to create this disk using there writing software as selecting create data disk does not work. I Used Roxio at 1x speed with Tesco DVD-R and all was fine. I burnt half a dozen disks before I got it right though. Dont assume people like myself now anything at all when reading these threads we need our hands holding through these things especially when your closer to 40 than 14.

Rafadawn is just fantastic I got there eventually - Thanks Minijohn

Okay, I have PAL Wii (3.2E) with Wiikey installed (1.9s)) and I went out and brought the game from my local Sainsbury's. Got it home and started playin it no bother, didn't ask for an update so I thought everything was fine. Got up this morning and now my Wii keeps spitting the discs in and out (both original and back ups) of the drive without any error messages. I have left this for a couple of hours and I have just managed to get Wii Fit to load up and have spent a hour making sure it works also improving my BMI. Got fed up with it then decided to play something else to see if my Wii has sorted it self out but alas it hasn't. Still can't load up any games as the Wii doesn't recognise the discs. Do I have a problem with the Wiikey or have Wii Fit bricked or semi bricked my Wii or is my Wii disc drive busted. Can't figured out if it is bricked as my Wii is PAL and Wii Fit is PAL also. Help please Rafadawn or anybody????

Hi minijohn, I'm using Ritek DvD-R discs at the mo and burning them using Nero 7.5 sumthing as a data image at 4X and my Wii was picking the discs up no bother until I got Wii Fit (see my last post)

I have sucessfully updated to 1.9s. This was my first time updating the wiikey. I purchased it used with the 1.9g update already on it so this is new to me. Is the Config 1.4 necessary? What will this enable me to do?

Hi,

I know this has probably been asked a hundred times, but I haven't been able to find where it's answered clearly (not enough for me, but I may just be stupid!)

I can't play Super Mario Galaxy.

I've run the updates from http://www.wiikey.cn/resources.html but it still doesn't work, well I'm still being told that my wii is going to run an update.

I'm just slightly lost in all the infomation so if somebody could give me a list of other things to check that would be great.

Thanks

US console/US game or PAL console/PAL game let the update run. If PAL with US or US with PAL then run Brickblocker on the iso before burning. Then the update won't run/install.

So it's safe to go ahead with the update as both are PAL?

Just want to make sure as the wii is actually a friend's who off traveling at the moment and I don't want to have to give him a white plastic box when he gets back!

Is it the same for Mario Kart, just let the update go?

Cheers

For retail versions you don't need to make any changes, just play as normal.

Hi, I hope anyone can help me here, i've pretty much given up on my Japan Wii since last year when i've semi-bricked it using PAL Mario Strikers Charged.. i've bought my Wii early last year already modded from a retail store, i think its modchip is just a WiiKey clone(is there a way to make sure about this w/o dissassembling my Wii?)..

Now i think i'll try my luck again, when i've read that modded Wiis can now play backups of Super Mario Galaxy and Super Smash Bros. Brawl, i think my WiiKey firmware is old and my Wii firmware was stuck with 2.0J or 2.2J(not sure); now where should i start my mission? I've already read the first post but i'm really not sure where to start.. it's like its really been a long time, and i'm not familiar with the new updates.. Any help would be greatly appreciated.. Thanks!

Try and you might, don't and you won't!

Hi,

Hi All,

However when I insert the Wii Fit DVD (original) it asks for the firmware to be updated via the DVD.

If I go ahead with it will I still be able to play backup games?

Thanks in advance,

I have run the latest wii software update via wireless connection. My Wii will not read any of my discs, and I dont have any originals now, it says Error unable to read disc. (I have played all of these games before so I know that they work). I have the Wiikey and have the disc that has the 1.9 update however it will not read that disc either....same error message...any ideas?

hi guys im new to the board and im after some help with playing backups on my wii.

I just got installed a wiichip (not a clone), before it was installed i updated my wii to firmware 3.2E (PAL).

Ive tried playing loads of backup games inwhich none worked.

I was told i needed to install the 1.9 update so i tried that but the wii does not recongise the disk.

Ive tried using the 1.9b, 1.9s and 1.9g updates aswell as the 1.4 config but none of it is recongised by the wii.

Ive copied the updates using nero and imgburn, i copy at the lowest speed and use good disks, ive tried installing the padded and unpadded versions and still nothing works.

Why is this?

Why wont my drve recongise anything apart from original games?

PLease help its doing my head in.

Ive searched the net for hours and this forums but cant find anyone with the same setup and problem as me.

If you can help and no why this is then please can you provide links to what ever software i need,.

Cheers guys and gals.
