Also, I have noticed that whenever I use the configuration disc and after I save settings, when I load the disk back in it shows the settings back to normal as if they aren't saving. Could this be from a bad solder job or do I need to use the recovery disk? Thanks.

Thanks, I've seen a few posts that say that as well.

Anyways, I tried making a multiboot emulator disk and when I put it into my Wii, only the "Boot DVD" and "Credits" options come up. After I select Boot DVD something comes up about my drive being detected and then it returns to the Boot DVD and Credits menu. No snes emulator or rom options any where :(

This is really frustrating since this is the only problem I've had so far with my Wiikey.

Possibly a region or a video compatibility issue.

Why don't you use WiiUI? Much simpler. You just need the roms.

Hi,

I'm sure one of you can help me out with a problem I have. I'm having trouble getting emulator disks to work on my Wiikey 1.9s modded Wii. All backups work flawlessly but out of the 5 disks I burned using BootableDisc3 and the snes emulator .dol file, none of them have worked. I'm also certain that I followed the guide to a key.

Whenever I put the disks in my Wii, the Gamecube logo comes up and then after I press Start, all I see is a black screen. After that no buttons on the wii-mote work nor does any on the GC controller. The only option after that I have is to turn off the Wii.

So what could the problem be? I also burned to Verbatim DVD-R disks at 4x speed. I would greatly appreciate any help whatsoever.

Thanks.

Thanks rafadawn, seems the images I were burning were set to PAL.

Ok, let's see if you can help me with this problem.

Out of no where, my backups have stopped working. Was playing Trauma Center with a friend last night like I always do, then woke up in the morning to find that backups came up "Unable to Read Disk". All backups have worked flawlessly before this problem came. I even disassembled the Wii again and checked solder points for continuity, all are fine.

My Wii system software is 32u and my Wiikey firmware was 1.9s when this happened.

So what should I do? My update and config disks aren't even read anymore. Could it be a faulty chip?

Thanks alot

Hey,

I cam across huge problem with my wii.
Up until few moments i had wiikey 1.9g and system version: 3.1E on a pal wii.

By mistake I updated to 3.2E and since then, I can not boot backups or any other CDs. Not even the original wii sports cd would work. I get the "error has occurred" on a black screen.

My CDs are verbatim TYG03, high quality DVDs and yet nothing works and before the update from 3.1E to 3.2E everything worked just fine.

Nothing works, not the wiikey recover cd, just nothing. I dont know what to do at this point.

Hope anyone came across this and its solvable.

Thanks again!

I have the same issue. There are a group of us that have semi-bricked wiikey's and 1.9b restore method doesn't work. I have yet to see a solution to my problem. Tried all posed solutions in this thread several times.

Dead wiikey , bad or 'broken' soldering.

Hey,

After checking more, it gets ODDer!
The problem related to the media, after the update my wii stopped reading TY DVDs but when I burn on some cheap media everything works.

The oddest thing is some of my old games work but the new games over the TY media gets me to the black screen.

3.2E sucks.

After checking more,

Verbatim TY works great(some of my older DVDs), but Verbatim MCC-004 wont boot up at version 3.2E (they worked fine at 3.1E).

Can anyone else confirm that?

Thanks

Generally Verbatim DVD-R burnt at 4x work well in most cases ...

however I can't remember the last time I have used Verbatim discs ..

It all depends on your dvd burner.

HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT
SEMI BRICKED WII FIX
HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT

I've been watching this thread for 6 months. And I finally found a FIX for a SEMI-BRICKED Wii! Someone made an ISO to burn that works.

Burn the ISO on the following page for your region... and I can CONFIRM this works for my US Wii semi bricked by a Japanese version of Donkey Kong Barrel Blast... which I think goes by another name there. Jet Blast? I dunno... But it WORKS :-)

http://www.coderetard.com/2008/05/22/wii...ario-kart-ssbb/

I found it by googling "semi brick wii fix"

My Wii is FREEEEEEEEEE!!! I can see my settings again!

Hi all,

Great advice here by the way!

I have just installed my wiikey and wii-clip, wiikey is genuine and all points have been tested with multimeter. I am running wii firmware at 3.2E (PAL)and I just cant get any config or update disk to work. Backup games and even restore just not working, I get the message "unable to read disk" etc. original PAL games are working fine.

The media im using is cheap asda (walmart) brand and im burning using nero via my laptop drive.

my way of thinking at the mo is to buy some expensive media and burn at 1x using imgburn.

Im at my wits end here guys, someone please assist me cus ive obviosly left my sanity in the toilet about 2 days ago lol.

Frustration is getting way to normal these days!

I just installed a wiikey but my wii cannot detect the original wii game now.
The wiikey 1.9s update and the 1.4 cfg disk can be detected as a GC game and they can be run.

I updated my wiikey to 1.9s but i did not hear any homers SE, is it a problem ?

my wii us 3.2US with 1.9s wiikey
Should i check the wiikey connection now ?
