Hi, i am new at this so bear with me.
I have a wii pal at 3.3E. When i try to run the wiikey update 1.9s, nothing happens, that is, it does the initial firmware check and then i press A and then... nothing. So i am guessing (from the youtube viewings) that i am still on 1.9g (the cute girls butt upgrade). Funny thing is my old backups work (DragonBall 3 etc), just the new ones dont seem to load (KungFuPanda, Mario Kart etc) and mostly i get the 001 error. As i see it, theres no way i can downgrade to firmware 3.2 (actually i had 3.1 prior, so 3.2 is no longer available at Nintendo) so how the heck can i upgrade my wiikey to 1.9s? It seems it doesn't update when it finds out that we are on a 3.3 firmware... Does this make any sense? i have asked wiikey.cn about this and am still waiting for their reply.
Any help would b welcome... thks in advance

Quick question. I have the latest Wiikey version, 1.9s (that is compatible with Japanese Smash Bros X), but I was wondering if it can be used to play imported, original Gamecube games as well? I tried loading in Japanese Smash Bros DX, but it failed to read it.

Some advice please
I have a Wii that I purchased which turned out to have a wiikey installed tried a number of items on it that worked. But after upgrading the firmware of the wii to 3.3 the wii fails to reconise homebrew disks or other disks now. It only reconises original games disks. Is this just coincidence? or has the wiikey chip failed?
Thanks for any advice

Hello,
I must update my wii in order to play the newest games, but I don't now what update must I download. My wii is from the Uk, but I unlocked it with the wiikey in Brazil, are there any differences between different regions wiikeys?
Should I download the update in PAL version or from the US (I presume the wiikey in Brazil came from the US)
Thank You

If I disable my Wiikey by crashing with the 1.3 update to play SSBB and MK, should I be able to recover using the 1.9g recovery?

Theres a thread about this very thing right on the front page, currently just below this one !!!
Anyway, Why would you want to ?
Just update you chip to 1.9s and you can play anything you like.

I wish it were that easy. The Wii no longer recognizes any of my Wiikey update or config discs. Was hoping the 1.9b recovery would work but it does not read that either.

I have a wii (firm 3.1) and a wiikey installed (firm ?) If I would like to update it (wiikart,obscure2, etc. not running) 1st q would be, where can I check the firm of the wiikey. if it is 1.9b can just upgrade the nintendo firm to 3.3 and it would solve my problem? or I have to update the key as well?
thanks

system update fisrt
you can get that update from mariokart because updating from the servers will give you 3.3 which is a big no no
then update your wiikey with 1.9s
you can get that update from the main wiikey website also.
its a piece of cake.
rule of thumb if you ever see an update and your system is modded dont update read and search before because if not you will pay the price until someone can figure out how to take you out the hole you put yourself in

Can anyone suggest a good failry cheap place to get an orginal wiikey for the uk.
Would a solderless one be better incase wiikey are made useless by these updates. I am assuming it risky to remove a wiikey if its soldered on.

Personally I would go with a D2pro over a wiikey everytime.

ok, I have run the updated from the wii kart disc. no errors. Then, when I have tried to start the game, it gave me an error: "... unauthorised device #001..." restart,.. same problem. I have checked the firmware of the wii, and its still 3,1e. Luckily the earlier games are still running.
What happenned? my guess is that the update is not ok, on the disc, and if so, where else can I get a 3,2 firm?

Its very striaght forward it was explained to you above.
You need to upgrade you wiikey to 1.9s, this will stop the 001 error.

If your wii says 3.1 then you haven't updated higher than that level, there is no other reason. If you updated to 3.2 or 3.3 it would say that.
