herrick,
I've got the contrast utility too. Dl'ed it right after I got my LS drive and got the software installed. Thankyou anyway, I appreciate it. I've done several LS dvd's and one LS cd-r that came with my drive. I bought a 10 pack of verbatim DVD+R LS discs that I got at a discounted price for buying the drive (bundle deal). Then I forgot I had them and bought another 30 pack a while back when they were on sale. I doubt I will need anymore LS dvd's for a long time since I much prefer the inkjet hub printable's. LS is not all it's cracked up to be IMHO.

I read a review sometime back about the quality of those HP LS which made me want one...so I got a couple of those Beng 1655s and I am please with the out put of the disks but the image is nothing to brag about- do you think there is much of a differance between the MFGs? and image quality?

aabbccdd,
I am talking about LS media. I've never seen any 50 pk or even 25 pk cd-r LS discs on sale for $5.99 anywhere. Staples, wallyworld, target, and wallgreens are the only b & m stores we have here.

Mort81,
You poor depraved man......lol. Are you close to a Sam's Club? They normally have something like your looking for but cheaper than the B&M places you have indicated. I'm so cheap I would have taken them back and ordered online just for GP (general principle). lol. Good luck with this search!
.........c
A couple of scans just to stay near topic. lol.
A MCC that scanned badly for some reason but plays flawlessly. Gives you an idea that these scans are somehow a little 'flawed'. lol.
A TYG03 that scans out nicely but has small anomalies in 3-4 places. Plays well except for these small 'pixelations'.

edit: for grammar and definitions......lol (garmoon needed some help....j/k)

garmoon,
Your trying to stir up trouble again. I may have to use full definitions so there is little confusion in the future. lol. Allthough many got plenty of laughs with the acronyms before. Good to hear from you. Try a tea spoon instead of a boat oar for that stirring next time. lol. j/k

cincyrob,
Before the Doc can say anything, lol. They are TY's as you said yourself. I have never used them but I have read from the gurus they are no different than the rest of the TY line. I will say this, "All of the TY line that I have used are great discs." I have used Sony (DVD-+R), FujiFilm (DVD-+R, CD-R), TY (DVD-+R) branded from reputable online sources and have NEVER been disappointed. Take this as you will because of my limited experience. Good luck and happy burning.

cincyrob,
Either way should be good. All comes down to personal preferance. Verbatim 8x DVD+R hub printables have been my printable media of choice but the verbatim 16x DVD+R non printable's I have used have performed flawlessly also. You can't hardly go wrong with verbatim or TY.
That's a good deal that windtrade posted but keep checking at newegg because sometimes they upgrade the special with free shipping. Last 100 pk of verbatim 16x dvd+r's I got from newegg were $21.00 after rebate with free shipping.

Mort81- I've quit sourcing my verbatim habit from newegg ! The whole MIR thing is a pain in the lower extremity - I bought some verbatims on sale from Them (Newegg) with the mail in rebate . I mailed in my rebate form & upc as required for fullfilment of the rebate all the paperwork requested and All I got back was a Postcard from Newegg stating that they could not process my rebate due to the UpC being missing from my paperwork ,but they would gladly reprocess it if I would send it back in ! And having sent it in with the rest of my required rebate paperwork that was not possible ! I like newegg in general and have always gotten good deals from them and recieved the exact item I ordered ! I will probably still order from them just not Verbatims with a Mail in rebate ! word to the wise Ciao!

Hmm, that's unfortunate. I've had very good luck with verbatim rebates, knock on wood.

MIR are just a galatic PIA, no matter what. I hate them and only use them if I can safe enough to make it worth the gauranteed hassle to chase them down until I get a real check in my mailbox. Personally, my threshold is about $50 or more, anything less is just not worth the hassle and unfortunately for me it becomes a matter of principle to make them honor the MIR. So, even on a $1 rebate, I'll spend two hours on the phone making sure I get I am due. I'm such a loser. :-)

I have used several hundred TY printables and they have been generally as good as any other TY. When I have had some with errors, if I get them from supermedia, they will take them back. Meritline will not even consider doing so.
