Hello Guys,
The new BCIC firwmare is pretty awesome man. I got a 98 with MCC004 media at 16x. that should be pretty good for burning at 16x right?? I guess i will try to burned at 8x and maybe i will have better chance to score 99. Have anyone got 99 with 16x burn??
thanks

maybe you'll have better luck than me; i'm unhappy with Benq firmware in regards to MCC004 and Yuden000T03 discs (as mentioned a page or few back up the thread).

Im using BCGB on my BenQ 1655. I get scores between 93-98 with 8x Yudens and 8x Verbs, but when I do scans I have an average PIF and an absolutley insane PIE spike.
That's a Verb as you can tell, but the Yudens are comming out the same. I think I'm going to try BCHB next and see if I can't improve that PIE. The DVDs play fine, I just don't like the look of those scans.

I like it. It doesn't rip quite as fast as my benq but burns every bit as good imo.

rob,
I don't see why you're having a problem burning after rb is complete. Just use Nero to burn the video_ts or use imgburn to build an iso and then burn. I really recommend upgrading to the pro version ($30 donation) then it will automatically build an iso if you choose and even automaticaly burn if you choose. I usually just burn the video_ts to save space on my hdd (like I really need to save space on a 300 gb hdd).
Edit: try playing the completed folder from your hdd using powerdvd or other player to verify the folder is good.

No... Taiyo Yuden does not make light scribe at this time. Light scribe takes a dye coating which is gold in color. As far as I know [which is not much] Philips, HP and Verbatim are at the Top. I would go with the Verbs if I was you. The cheapest place I have seen them is at supermediastore. Taiyo Yuden does make a white pritable inkjet hub if you are interested- which is something that might be good to look in- I am not all that thrilled with the light scribe part of my drives, but then again I have not tweeked with it that much.

@cincyrob,
Do the upgrade to DVD-RB Pro, it is well worth it. I'm having some problems with my system but the DVD backup programs I'm using (mainly DVD-RB Pro & Nero Recode2) are flawless for me. Doc and Mort81 will attest to the greatness of DVD-RB Pro.
I can't say it any better than Mort81 said it. You might try some of the forums for assistance. If I can do it you can too. lol. Try this website for some help. Just scroll down to the install part and go from there. Since I didn't have CCE/Procoder I un-checked that selection. This helped me because the program wouldn't even go into encode mode. I can help a little here because I used all the free stuff but Mort81 is the one to go to on this since he converted the Doc to DVD-RB Pro. lol. I know that Mort81 already gave you the forum but here it is again. :)

cincyrob,
Where is your path to hc encoder? Here's what my setup screen looks like.
Also on the main screen under mode, if you uncheck enable output directory, rb will use the same folder for destination and workpath and look similiar to this

WOW! Sorry there PAL... I just happen to check my email at work and BAMM... I PM you also in your shout box there Josh, sorry and thank you very much there cincyrob but to be honest their not the greatest drives but I am very happy [have not had a sigle problem yet]with the two I have and I am very pleased you took the time to enform those who are intersted... still have not tweeted enough to give an honest opinion of light scribe, but so far still like my labels [now that they have emproved the adheave- have labels over a year old and still good to copy from and review] and I am still going to invest into a printer that does disks.... again thank you

Ya... you have a good point and others have stated the same, but for the record I have over 950 DVDs in my collection and most of them are over a year old and so far I have had 4 peel up and a friend had 3 peel up that I did for him- those where from a donation at work and was very old and paper was of poor quality, now they have impoved much and I have had very little problems...BUT that being said yes I am soon go to printable disks [ still have a couple 100 labels left-they will see the round file as soon as I get a new printer]I really love the TY products and have had great outputs w/ them... I have never used their printable disks,but Im sure they are no different in quality- cant go wrong w/ TY... Thats funny I was just looking at that printer cinyrob spoke of and I believe Bestbuy has it for $199.00- Supermediastore has some good sales right now on TYs- I was looking at those 16x disks
