Oh and iba5000 when I mean do a disc scan man,look at the top of the CubeMedia2.It will say File at the top,just scroll down and scan a PS2 disc.You must have the original game to do a disc scan,but is alot quicker than scanning the PART1.PAK file or PART2.PAK file.

Ok, I noticed someone had stated they were playing the game form the HDD? Does this person have the PS2 modded or can you load from your Pc the rebuilt ISO to the HDD with WinHIIP and use HD Loader? Or can I use a memory card exploit I have read abotu a long time ago. I believe this exploit allowed you to use a PS1 game...then put in youre burnt PS2 DVD but i think i remember you had to have the PS2 modded. Any answers to using HDD with God Of War would be appreciated.

I have the real game and I'm still getting those "Mpeg2 Flag Errors" and I'm doing it the same way you wrote before L-Burna to do i right from the DVD am u doing something wrong?

ok, i used the method to the T (i have the flip top lid with the SM v2 disc) when i load the game it says...sony computer entertainment presents....on a black background and thats it, any suggestions?

I thought it'd be good to have even though I want to use L-burna's method, which doesnt need it. There are apparently issues with Sonix's method (again, hes good but a little extra work to eliminate the small issues would make it flawless). Why go through 6 programs, sacrifice quality on some videos for the sake of time, and still have issues with 2 of the bonus clips?
Can anyone tell me if the backup minus the bonus videos has the costumes which you unlock by beating the Challenge of the Gods?

Anyone using swap magic 3.0 or lower will have to use dvd_loader
to boot the game.

I got the God Of War Proper Confusion version and burned it with DVD Decrypter but everytime I get to the start of Pandoras Temple it freezes at the loading screen or the save loading screen just before the ropebridge.
Is there any way to rebuild or somehow fix this version of God Of War or do I have to get the full 7-8gig version?

Yeah, I thought I had a bad burn when my game froze, but after reading a few posts I waited for it to load and it worked. Only had to wait about 2 minutes.
P4 3.4GHz Advent T11, 512MB Ram, Nvidia Geforce 6600 256MB, 250GB Hard Disk, Pioneer dvr-108 writer.
PS2 Version 9 Silver, Flip top (Sprayed), Swap Magic v3.3, 250GB HD - HDAdvance 3.0.

L-Burna or Jizmak or anyone who has done this GoW thing....
(Using SONIX method) I'm at the point where I need to rejoin the m2v/wav files.... Do I need to pull out any other files from my 'SPLIT' folder? Does PSSPLEX.EXE and the .dll file also need to be in there too or just the join.bat? I have no idea what's going on... Everything else seemed to be going well... I'll check back in the morning.. Thanks for any help while I snooze 8)

I didn't use Sonix method for downsampling can't really help you out DocPocket.I did it a different way using a program called ps2str I can't really help out on the new tutorial provided by Sonix,sorry man.Hey iba5000 you have to register the CubeMedia program to extract the files,it will not let you extract the files without registering.

No that is normal the Mpeg2 errors are normal,because the .PAK files are suppose to be one file joined together,so when it scans one of the .PAK files you will get those errors.

You have adjust the Convert settings,right when you click on Convert it will give you a window.Inside the window should be the video file along with the sound file normally.When you press the Config button inside the window you can adjust what it extracts and what doesn't need to be extracted.

I didnt downsample the movies at all.
I removed the .pss files.
So i have no idea what you are referring to.

Ok... So SONIX is not to way of choice.... In oder to not bore the rest of the folks in here, is there a tutorial or anything on exactly how you guys did it? Or a link to the post... I flipped through about 10 pages, but everything started to look the same... Current tools that I have (to let me know if I need additional toys):
Nero6, DVD Decrypter, Alcohol 120%, PSSPlex, DVD2AVI, Munge-O-Matic, Apache 2.00, IML2DVD, TMpegEnc... And I am not averse to (relatively) complex things, provided they are step-by-step... Again, thanks a lot you guys.... This has gotten so consuming, that I have refused to play my copy of GoW until I have a working Back-Up!

hey guys
I made a working copy of God of war. Works fine Accept the part where kratos talks to ORACLE when she is dying and she says that "kratos you are too late, Aries has destroyed athens", soon after, the game loads and it takes for ever. Is that a disc error or normal. Do I have to wait longer. I have already been waiting for about 10 mins.

L-Burna did you have a problem with BONUS20.PSS even after you converted it out of Cube Media Player because when it is exported/converted out. It is still only 15 for the sound atleast because I used PSSPlex to split the sound from the movie and the movie is like 3 mins 29 secs which is right but the audio is still 15 and secs and silent any suggestions on how to fix this problem?

This post shows how to convert GOW dvd9 to a dvd5 Backup.
It starts as dual layer (ORIGINAL)but ends up single layer.(BACKUP)

Jizmak,which method is the best in backin up God of War? The first method where everything is backed up except the extra unlocked videos or the second method posted by SONIX where the full game is backed up?
