I rebuilt the image with sonix tool and burnt a copy for one of my friends and myself. He boots his copy with gameshark, I boot mine with a PSX mc exploit with cogswap or cdloader. His copy plays fine thru the entire game, my copy freezes as the part when you run across the gigantic sword that is a bridge (right before you enter the desert region). Has anyone else had a freeze here? Is it just a bad burn or is there a better way to boot the backup?

I'm not sure what you mean as comparable to HDLoader, but I have the latest HDA that is patched to play with God of War.

What are these bonus movies that they are talking about? The in-game cut-scenes or the "making of" type that gets unlocked after you beat the game? As long as the in-game cut-scenes are intact, I would care less about the "making of" and similar unlockable movies.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance

An update I have done 42 movies so far,and CubeMedia2/Blaze Media Pro/PSSPlex seem to be working fine for all the movies I went through.I wonder what happened the first time I went through, anyways it is getting pretty near done.Hey prpl_haZe these three tools seem to be the best so far I have used(TMPGenc isn't needed, was a bug or something I went through the first time bro).Still time consuming, and I really don't want anyone to have to go through all the work.I am trying to figure out a way I can maybe set it up for everyone to get to the edited movies also.I definately would like to contribute this so everyone can just use the edited movies instead of going through the whole process, because not alot of people have the time to mess with it.

Quote: Does the PS2 seem to read the DVD+R better/easier?
For High TOC games that run more off the disc (Godofwar,GTA:SA...ect)
For me my ver 7 ps2 run quiter and smoother on +r media.
I have only noticed this on newer Large TOC games,
If your ps2 is ver 5 or better i would recommend,
trying +r media if you can.

Yep I agree Jizmak I have a V7 also bro and the Dvd+R media seems to run better, not really sure why though.I use Dvd+R media every chance I get, including my Xbox and GameCube ;).I am pretty positive also if your PS2 can handle the Dvd+R DVD-5 4.7Gig discs. You can use the Dual Layered media also, which is Dvd+R at the momment.Negative media should come out pretty soon from what I am hearing also.

Any of you know where I can get the God of War tool besides from the backuptools site. I have registered to this site but I have not received an e-mail from them to confirm my account. I don't have a FREE e-mail address and I got all the other tools except the SONIX GOD OF WAR TOOL. Let me know if you guys have any suggestions. By the way, how long does it normally take to hear from the backuptools.co.uk site.

Thanks for the update L-burna, how many movies are there total? I imagine it's really CPU intensive, so I am not sure if you can do 2 at a time, or do anything else while it's running.
I'd like to do it myself, but I need to get those other 2 programs (Blaze & PSSPlex) which I cannot seem to find in the downloads, although I'm sure they are there somewhere.
Keep me updated, I may try to work on it this weekend...get started anyways.

Yeah man pretty harsh for real, there are 67 movies all together.I wish I could do 2 at a time man,the program only allows one at a time bro.I look around the internet waiting on it sometimes or go watch a movie and check on it every 15 minutes or so.I don't lack that much to be honest I am all the way down at the SEMO section,58 movies at the momment ;).

Damn, guess I better find those tools and get started.
[Edit: I found the trial version of BlazeMedia pro, but I cannot find PSSPlex. Where can I get this utility???]
Will God Mode be playable on my backup without the bonus movies? (I assume yes).
-thanks all-

I have completed the game using
only my created backup.
Im now trying challenge mode.
(It seems pretty hard at this point)
when i was doing the quest for the 2 necklaces.
(It did freeze on the loading screen for about 5-7 minutes,
when returning with second necklace.)
But no problems other than that so far.
here are my mose recent pics with the backup only.

Hey wats up sorry I couldn't really get any progress done today, because been shopping for my bro's B-Day.Hey prpl_haZe try this link out man http://www.megagames.com/ps2/ps2_utils_graphics.shtml should bring you right to the PSSPlex utilites man.I am using the Lite version right now,but the Lite and Full version work fine.If you get any .dll errors take a trip over to http://www.dll-files.com they should hook you up with all the .dll files that are missing alright bro.Jizmak tanks for the pics man, nice pics by the way bro.I wonder how you got rid of the lines that normally show up on a TV man.I always seem to get those lines no matter what I use to take a pic of the TV,you know the pixel lines.Anyways seems things are progressing pretty well on my part, only lacking like 5 movies.I will see if I can put a torrent link for the edited movies once I finish.

pak 2 is in layer 1.
You have to do 2 extractions.
First extract layer 0
Then extract layer 1 to the same folder.
They are extracted seperately.
When you are in Apache2 you have to right click at the top of the header of your .iso in the program and select switch layers. Then you can obtain the second layer PART2.PAK it really isn't hard to do

I have swap magic 3.6 and I have the problem where it just stays at the Sony entertainment screen. Then when I tried jiz's dvd loader method it said that it was an invalid disc. I also followed the directions exactly. Has this happened to anyone else with sm 3.3 or higher.

Oh and the only thing i think i did wrong during the burning process of gow was I relinked all the missing bonus files to one .pss file. Not sure if that would make a diference or not. thanx for the help.

I use swap magic 3.3
The loader is only needed for 3.0 or LOWER.
You must have done something wrong,
Or not used Good Media burned At 2x.
The .pss files would not matter as long as the
ONE you selected was available.
I just completed the game with ONLY my backup.

i used DVD Decrypter.
for people having trouble building the .iso using apache
You can use a DOS method.
You can use dos to combine the files into as .iso
The steps are a little different than other games.
if you try to add them all at once it wont work.
use these cmd options.
copy /b gow.000 + gow.001 = gow.a
copy /b gow.002 + gow.003 = gow.b
copy /b gow.a + gow.b = gow.iso

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
that there sould be 16 files and that the iso should be 7.97 gigs
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
First you make the .iso with dvd decrypter 7.93gb.
make new folder gowbuild
run apache 2
extra layer 0 to gowbuild
extra layer 1 to gowbuild.
The gowbuild should contain the 16 files 7.97gb
(the files will have been extracted NOT IN .ISO form
