There seems to be a lot of people having problems with building the ISO from Apache with the iml file.
If you are getting the error message
Quote:
Can't find GODOFWAR\SYSTEM.CNF!....

it is because Apache is being told to look in the wrong place!
Option1:
Please, make sure that your iml and ims file are in a folder that contains the GOFOFWAR game folder!

Option2:
Open the iml file in notepad and edit each line to correctly point to the files. example:

281 281 0.0 0 "GODOFWAR\SYSTEM.CNF"

If the system.cnf file on your pc is stored at something like C:\GOW\SYSTEM.CNF then edit the line so it reads

281 281 0.0 0 "C:\GOW\SYSTEM.CNF"

Do the same with each filename in the list.

Doing either of these options will solve this particular problem.

So did your method of downsampling movies work L-Burna? Have you tried all the movies in-game?

I haven't been able to get enough free time to finish up all the movies, but off and on man.I am sure it works, only reason it froze on me the first time was the tool provided by Sonix has a size restriction. If you go over the 4,089MB limit it will make the tool freeze,so what I am doing is going back and making it all fit to a reasonable size right now with all the movies just compressing them.It is time consuming, and I just restarted from beginning so I wouldn't lose track on what I was doing.I am pretty close to finishing it up,made the sound in the movies the original sound.I will let you all know once it is done, just have to find more time to finish it up.I really can't say it will work or not,but chances are it should work.Just gotta work around the tool provided by Sonix, and everything should be good to go.

Actually it was my first copy without the second layer.
I didnt know there was a problem until level 4.
That was when i tried the sonix tool.

I didnt care about the bonus movies per se,
But i didnt want to throw it away either.
So I ended up keeping it for the bonus movies.

It is a 1:1 copy using DVD Decrypter of layer 0
Juizmak, follow me for a sec. If I just make a 1:1 copy using DVD Decrypter of layer 0 and save the disc. Then I beat the game with my 'Sonix' backup. Then I re-load the game with my "layer 0 disc" What bonus content will be available, and what will not?

Thanks again,
still following L-burna's progress. L-burna, if you started over man, keep track of which movies are compressed that you have to use TMPGEnc on.

Using the layer 0 1:1 copy,The bonus movies in the
start menu will be available.
I have only unlocked the ones for easy mode,
But im assuming they will alll be there.

Thanks Jizmak,

So if I wanted the god-mode, or costumes etc.. to be available, I'd need to perform the L-burna method right?

Do l-burna's method or start with the 1:1 copy
Then save and switch to sonix method disk.

Granted l-burna's method is much better,
And when done should be flawless but i dont have
that kind of time.

So i gotta stick with what i got.

hello anybody please reply to me soon.
Well anyway I burned God of War with this online Tutorial I downloaded off this site, well I did all of the instructions successfully and well I burned it on A DVD just fine, well the bad news, my modchip in my playstation doesn't recognize the disc and does not load, I have a modestly new modchip and I have a problem. It goes to the Browser menu with the 2 memory cards and the disc appears on the screen so I push X, well it doesn't load, it just goes back to the Browser screen and all over again. All my other backups work except this one. I don't know what to do. Someone please help me with my ordeal. Thank you

I just made a copy of GoW. I followed the guide on this topic exactly. The game works pretty good (It plays). But.....There are quite a few 'skips' or 'jolts' in the video and audio durning the cutscenes and I think during the begining of gameplay. I have a PS2 V.5 with a DMS3 mod chip. I used a Memorex DVD-R 4x disc. And I burned the ISO image at 2x with DVD Decrypter. The copied disc is 3.47gigs. Anybody else have this skip/jolt problem, and if so, how did you correct it (if you were able to)

so you go get the regular movies, just not the bonus ones right?

@RyKnOw11
As far as skipping use better media.
Verbatim is great for ps2 as well
as fujifilm. I also recommend using +r media if you can.
And burning no higher than 2x.
The game should only hang at the "loading" screeens.
(Thats the only time my copy hangs anyway)

@jmorr34
This backup method has all the IN GAME movies,
But not of the BONUS movies unlocked in the start menu.

@Baconbob,
I pm'ed you.
Respond back here please and let me know
if it helped at all.

I have V4 and SM 2.0, I have copied to Datasafe gold DVD+R @ 2 speed using DVDDecrypter. I have made a copy using the sonix method and played right though to Pandorras Temple where it sticks @ either the save point or when I walk over the bridge, I left it for about 20 mins, still no joy. My media and PS2 are fine and always work with other copies and originals. Any ideas?

Swap Magic 2.0 users must use the cdloader/dvdloader to get pass this.It depends on your Swap Magic version to be honest, but yeah I am positive Swap Magic 2.0 users need to use the cdloader/dvdloader technique.

I get the same results at the same spot right after Pandora's Cinematics of climbing the Titan. The beginning of this level freezes. I am going to rebuild GoW and make sure I relink eveything 100%. Jizmak said if it freezes that would be the reason why so thats my direction.

Also I did use DVDloader the cd vers. but I do have the DVD vers. as well.

mallaug: Is your version of HDA comparable to HDLoader (I'm not 100%, but didn't they come out with a newer HDA?)?

whats the difference for using DVD-R rather than DVD+R. Does the PS2 seem to read the DVD+R better/easier?

This is a question for the response by Jizmak in a prior post.
