Hello Guys,
Since you guys are on the topic with the printables. I would like to know if the T02 is worth that $.10 over the tygo2?? my main concern is for the flawless playback. I am not big on the booktype.
My burners are px-716 and benq dw1640.

well...... my BenQ 1655 has better scans with the YUDEN000TO2s than the TYG02s! Sooooo for my burners it's the +Rs rather than the -Rs! Oh, and another plus for the +Rs.... I can booktype them to DVD-ROM!~

@Yujenh,
IHoe has it here. The YUDEN T02's should give you a better scan and therefore a better product. NO guarantees but that is the general consensus I get from the people that burn both discs. Don't think the TYG02's or TYG03's are bad media just that the YUDEN T02 is that GOOD. :)

IHoe mentioned the DVD+R book-type to DVD-ROM, I think it's a great idea and isn't that difficult. I think that BENQ has the Q-suite for the DW-1640 (I know it does for the DW-1650 and DW-1655) and Plextor should have Plex-tools for the PX-716.

aabbccdd should know about the TOOLS for the Plextor, hopefully he will respond. :)

If you use IMGBURN to burn your iso's it will book-type as well. EASY stuff to do. I recommend it most definitely!!

Good luck with that. :)

Yujenh, yes you can set it a forget it(DVD+R to DVD-ROM) with the Plextor tools(LE verison) software. under "Drive Setting" make sure BOTH boxes are checked

Change Booktype for DVD+R

Change Booktype for DVD+DL

I have a question about some TY media I just received from Shop4Tech for $30.50/100 shipped. Briefly, the results from DVDIdentifier returned the following: Unique Disc Identifier: DVD+R:YUDEN000-T02-000. Manufacturer ID: YUDEN000. Media Type ID: T02. Also the furthest ring on the inner hub has a holographic number of TG001162.

Is it safe to say I got the good stuff? I've bought from them before and have always been very pleased.

I just don't agree with it's rating on TDK! to me that's crappy media!

@IHoe

Actually, some 8X+Rs were actually TY T02s. I had bought a 100 stack of TDKs before I became enlightened; and only after burning almost all of them, did I discover that they were TYs. LOL

if you got Made In Japan TDK.... it could very well be 8X, DVD+R, YUDEN000T02s! TDK outsources..... same thing with Fuji! if you find Fuji Made In Japan then those are YUDEN000T2s, too!

to be honest with everyone here, i much PREFER the YUDEN000T02s to the 16x DVD+R YUDEN000T03s, it's not saying that the 16x DVD+R are poor media, it's just that with my older Benqs and Pioneer drives still in use, the firmware and MID coding incorporated into the firmware revisions are not "up to date" you could say :)

for those with the newer drives, chances are there will be no major issues with the 16x DVD+R TYs, but since i'm still using optical drives from well over a year ago, my success with the YUDEN000T03s are not as favorable as with my 8x DVD+R TYs (which are still slightly less expensive than their 16x DVD+R brethern at this time) :)

just thought i'd drop in and say hello :)

Hello docTY glad to see you on your thread!The YUDEN000T02s still perform better on my Benqs Plextor and the 2 new LG's i just got.Not much of a fan of the light scribe but the LG burners are impressing me. Hope all is well with you and thank you for your contributions and help when I was starting out. Chris

HELLO *u know who* ........LOL

Great to see you docTY!! I haven't tried the YUDEN T03's yet but I'm sure that I will some day. And yes I agree, and somewhere I wrote it in Black and White, that the YUDEN T02's are the *bomb*. hehehe.

I have one of the DW-1650's and it definitely does *better* with the 8X and 4X media. Not that bad on the 16X stuff but from MY experience the 4X and 8X media *score* higher than the 16X with that drive. NOW on the 18X drives that I have (Pioneer DVR-112L & Lite-On LH-18A1P) they perform slightly better than the DW-1650 with 16X media. I'm only talkin a few PIF's and PIE's here not the *score* itself normally. 93-98 score with the LH-18A1P scanning most of the time. :)

btw that's on most media not only TY's. I know this is the Official docTY thread, but I do burn other than TY sometimes. hehehe. Verb's, Maxell's (MIJ) TDK's, Ritek's, Ridata's, Prodisc's, and Optodisc's; sorry docTY but I can't always give away my precious when the parents or friends want to borrow a movie. hehehe.

Good to see everyone here. Have a great Easter weekend. :):):):):):)

Hi, I just bought some TYG02's from Meritline, and i was wondering if it was a bad idea buying from this vendor (I heard that they have been selling fakes)

This is where I heard this: meritline selling fake TY media as legit ??

I've had good luck with both of these stores on other items besides media. Most all of my media bought online has been from Shop4Tech. I know some of you may have had problems with S4T, but I've been very happy with products and replacement policies when an NEC ND3550A I got from them bit the dust. Also, somehow I received a double shipment once, and they paid the return freight. Also I understand Rima is another 4-star vendor, but I've yet to buy from them.

All in all, I'm sure everyone will agree that if we or our newbie friends stick with the big four here, then all will be well. It's like anything else; you get what you pay for.

Have a great Easter, everyone!
