I have burned over 20 discs of PSX games as my backup. They are all yuden brand with a printable top. What a waste if I discard them all. Does anybody have the same problem like I do when they try to play their disc, which is yuden, of backup on their PS2?

Thanks for the info anyway. I really appreciate for all you guys' help.

Suggestion, there are lots of Yuden type, I just wonder which type of Yuden is the best or most suitable for all kind of burning or electrical device such as DVD players, game consoles, CD players and so forth?

Compared to Pioneer, how is Yuden, better or worse?

this is the most retarded, pointless thread so far. who would be sad enough to constantly talk about a brand of dvd? its ok for reference, but if u stick aroun and always read it and get exicited about a new TY product coming out, then you realy need to get a life and/or girlfriend.

i have a question, i 've been using TY for a very long time but the discs that i bought are usually silver thermal lacquer so it's easy to get dirt stuck on the surface....is there anyways to prevent this?

:)

unfortunately, for the "shiny silver" TYs, they are very much prone to dirt/fingerprints/dust when not properly handled/cared for. my only suggestion would be the store them properly after burning/viewing and try your best to handle them by holding them at the outside edges of the disc or put your finger thru the hole in the middle :)

i use a LOT of "shiny silver" TYs for my own purposes, but proper care needs to be considered in keeping them clean...considering the silver thermal lacquer ones are generally less expensive online, that's the "trade-off" compared to media you can purchase retail that come with a nice "coating" of sorts on top. the TY quality is still very much present in the silver shinys, ya just need to be a little more careful in handling them~

tcwas, the bad part about the silver ty's are minimal, consider this, if you intend on keeping your media for a while its always a good bet to keep them as clean as possible, you can read up on that subject just about anywhere.

The good part is any dirt or finger prints are very easy to spot on the silvers, thus just about shouting in your face if it has any dirt or prints anywhere on the disc, I to was a little sceptical in the beggining but the other disc's dont show up the dirt no where near as well.

And dont forget fingerprints carry oil, and dirt is dirt, both are disc deterioraters givin enough time, I know most people really don't care about this issue but people that really care about keeping there movies or music for a long time should.

It really depends on what your present system "likes" better and what your needs are at this time. Do you need printable discs or paper sleeves atm? If you have the ability to print to disc then I would choose the Verbs on the other hand if you don't have the printer then the choice would be the TY's. :) Are you confused yet? I've confused myself. lol.

No matter what decision you make I think that both are good choices. :)

...gm

Just for more confusion you might want to check this out at www.newegg.com>> Verbs DVD+R 16X

edit: I was typing while MichaelP1 posted........ ;)

You can burn faster w/ the 8x BUT the difference can be minimal depending on the burner.

got my ty's from sms the other day, they code out as gt02's :)

too bad i was dumb enough to buy the lacquer finish; i use sharpies on all my burns. doh! so i went out and bought some random labels (not cd-labels) to make due until my next purchase of non-lacquer ty's lol

so far no burning troubles or playback troubles :)

what are random labels? I wouldn't stick anything on a dvd especially something that would unbalance it.
