will do but it looks like no one wants to play ball yet!
i am about to film a fluxing video though!!!!!!
stay tunned!
I can't wait to see the fluxing video as I've used flux on 4 consoles without much success.
The problems I have are:
1) Applying sufficient flux to the correct area and even if I apply sufficient flux (best attempt yet is 5ml) most of it evaporates before I have chance to heat gun the area it as been applied to.
2) When I did manage to apply the 5ml of flux to the one console after re-assembling the console the YLOD had been cured, but the fan runs really fast and load, and there is a distinct smell of the flux coming from the console.
My question is: As anyone been more successful when trying to apply liquid flux?

Hi Guys,
My question is directed towards Gilksy & Wiiman primarily but I'd be grateful to anyone who knows their flux.
After successfully fixing the YLOD issue on my son's PS3 a couple of weeks ago, it damn well reared it's ugly head again. I have done a 2nd reflow and the PS3 is operational again. This time I kept the same temp (350c) on the heat gun but increased the time to about 45-50 secs on each component and it worked. We will see for how long this time.....
If it happens again I want to be prepared to do the flux treatment so I have tracked down an online store near me in Australia and was wondering which flux is right for the job. Below is a link to the product line that I think is right but I would love as many opinions as possible because I want to buy the right one. It should be "no clean" flux right?

I think the one I need is NC-275 but I'm not sure.....
Thanks for any help.

I took a look and I think this one would be a better option
http://okay.com.au/okayshop/product_info...roducts_id=3463
Im saying a better option as this one is rosin based (like what im using) and also states it does not have to be cleaned afterwards. Its also thicker (15% solids) Im also speculating (as ive never personally used it) that no-clean flux evaporates quite quickly and might not give you enough working time.

Hmm....... then it could be that i put in my old HDD then. I did that to see if it's a Hard corruption, this seems weird as the PS3 YLOD before booting up. But i changed it back when it didn't fix the problem. Seems like PS3 binds the HDD upon detection.

Hey Guys,
I've fixed my yloded ps3 thanks to the guide, but in the process, i have broken something.
My bBuray drive is connected with a ribbon. The ribbon goes into a clip, but the top part of the clip which holds it down has come off. Is there any way i can fix that. I;ve tried putting tape , and it wont work
Please help, i really need it for the days to follow
Thankyou so much for your future input.
