Do they cost as much as white inkjet printable or are they higher cost? My Samsung can do lightscribe but I've never used that feature. Instead I use inkjet printable media....

You'll find that litescribe is nothing to write home about. Looks pretty plain by comparison. I have 2 laying around that I will probably never use...
To delete, or not to delete. THAT is the question!

I have a small number(like 3 or 4)lightscribe discs I got from other people with stuff they recorded on them. The way they look I'd prefer to stay with inkjet printable media.

The only time I use LightScribe is for my Old Time Radio programs. I burn the programs to CDs and burn the labels. The labels look kinda old fashioned and make my collection look cooler.

@bigtoxy
Yeah I've been using those TDKs for giveaways; they've been coding out as Rikek F-16s. Not the best scans but they all play, and that is what counts. And play w/o issues. And will copy.

garmoon : Next to longevity who could ask for more
I know a lot of people use Nero to test their discs, but I prefer DVDInfo Pro. just to check the sectors. I've used Ritek Ridata & Tys for years now without any problems
Occasionally I'll have a bad Disc due to human error
I've even got some old ProDisc (8YRS OLD), Labeled CompUSA THAT STILL PLAY. But the proof is really in longevity, whether it be name brand or not.
Back in the day I liked ProDisc, till they changed.

I don't know how ProDisc has changed. Most of my Maxell have been made by ProDisc, and the Mom n Pop store by me has their white printable CD-Rs which are very good.
Office depot is by me in the city. That's a decent price. Wish they were the Verbs though. I will not hesitate at the next OM $19.99 Verb sale. Train fare included.
The Riteks I had to take the suggestion here and burn at 8x. Otherwise I would get pixelated discs.

dr_ml422: If I'm not mistaken OFFICE DEPOT brand r Ritek
I never burn over 8x, 6x when possible
I'm a firm believer in the laser burning more accurate at lower speeds

Garmoon- The last batch { 2 50 ct. Spindles } I bought from OD were CMC MAG AM3'S not Riteks but they seem to burn good in my litey & and have'nt gotten any complaints on the ones I've made for the family / giveaways ! Ironic though when I bought them I was hoping to get Riteks ! I miss the good old days when you could Just go Buy some Officedepot Brand disc and be Reasonably sure of Getting either Ritek or RicohJpn 's with Major { branded ) Disc You Never know what you might get from one spindle to the next if you stray from Sony & Verbatims !!!!! - I suppose though , That that is the advantage of Buying Online & in bulk With taiyo Yudens ! You Know what your getting then atleast !!!! anyways Thanks and Have a Good One !!!!

It would be better to buy them online from the Microcenter web page with it set for your local store. Then you can go pick up the items after you get the email that says they are ready. Thats usually the way I shop at Microcenter plus I can get more (if I wish) while I'm there at the store before I pay for what I ordered online. The web pages tell me the amont of stock my local store has for any item they carry.

NEVER tried it that way. only thing half the stuff they have at the store isnt online to look at. i may have to after this trip.not only was there nothing on sale. they did have the valuedisc 16x+/-r verbs there, but 19.99 per 100. and they had the IHAS124 for $34.99. to much. and the AD7241S $34.99 also. they only had 2 checkout lines open and 25+ people in line. i put the drive down and walked out with my ad paper. lol

Sorry for your bad experience. My store has never been that crowded at the checkout as they always have 3 cashiers available for checkouts.
Nothing you wanted on sale huh? Too bad, maybe next time.
The valuedisc I saw both online & in the store wasn't Verbatim but Hotan which is some sort of house brand that uses CMC to make the discs. They were $15.99 per 100 pack but my store is out because I picked up the last 2 +R's & last 3 -R's they had. Don't know if they will get more of them. Nice 16x silver matte discs that gave great burns plus playback results for both my computer burner & the standalone DVD recorder. When those run out I'll see if they still have the Verb 8x silver shiny +R for $19.99 per 100. But if they are out of them then I'll use my inkjet printable DVDR's in the standalone DVD recorder as I have plenry of TY & Prodisc ones here ready to burn.

Those $15.99 Verbs DVD+R that Micro puts on sale every other week, I never seen those posted on here as specials. Are these just strictly for the Local store? The cheapest I've seen Verbs is $19.99 per 100 as been posted here numerous times. At $15.99 even online that would be great snatch including shipping.

@gman and bigtoxy
yeah the last batch of OD +R were indeed CMC Mags! They worked just fine. In fact every kind of disc I have burned in the past year I've had no issues playing them but big differences in some of their scans.I have had no trouble using CMCMags, verbs, ritek F-16 & 05, ricohjpnR03, Sony, Sony X8 TYs,and just recently JVC TYs. No issues with playback.
I keep the Verb 003 and now 004 and Sony X8 TY T02s.
