right this has gone on long enough. All u do is rather download the dvd 5 image or if u have the actual game rip it to your hard drive with DVD Decrypter. Then the iso file should be like 7gb.Then rebuild it with gnies expert rebuilding tool and then burn it to really good discs such as verbatim with the dye entrusted to taiyo yuden or sony made in india are the best sonys made in my opinion.BURN WITH DVD Decrypter AND PLAY!!!
WHAT CAN BE SIMPLIER PEOPLE.

i have a question:
do you have to have a mod-chip in order for PS2 backup games to work?
or no. is there a way to play backup games without a mod-chip?
can anyone tell me please.

oh okay. a swap disk, i heard of those.
what if i copy and burn a PS2 game on a DVD-blank. instead of a swap disk. will that work, without using a Mod-chip or, do i have to have one mod-chip for back-up games on DVD Blanks..?
cam you tell me wolfdawg.

Please, someone put a picture of the re-link stuff, i know the process, but the columns do not fit as stated before, i mean theres no pss or psw to manual link, only other formats (or file type).

I switched to CDVD Gen then, to create the iso and burned it, but it just stuck in the Sony ...etc screen and does not finish to load completely.

mikernite,
You mentioned that you have used Gnie's Expert (by the way, is this one in the same as Gnie's Auto Rebuilder, same file sized rar at any rate, just trying to clarify?) for reducing a 7 GB iso to fit on a DVD5 and have had no problems.
How have you got around the dual layer transition point freezing problem? From all the posts I have read, Expert/Auto Rebuilder, will shrink the ISO to fit on a DVD5, but you will still hang at the dual layer switch point?
Thanks if anyone else can also clarify this.

Hi There! I've tried doing God Of War all the ways on here it still freezes at Pandora's Bridge. So I have gave up on it.If anyone has made it past that spot let me know. That is probably where the second layer starts like you said.Well that is my input.Good Luck....Later Bra.....

GregI, in another thread you said:
"when u have ur 7gb iso file rebuild it with gnies tool and thats u (worked for me)"
As someone else said, this takes a mere 10 minutes or so, and only involves 2 free softwares (ie, DVD Decrypter and Gnie's Expert)!
Sounds like the freeze points to look for are the one at Stage 4 (dual layer split point) and the end of the game.
Out of curiosity, since I've never played GOW, how long could it take a decent PS2 gamer to get to stage 4? Hours, days, weeks? While I don't want to make a coaster out of a Taiyo, I also don't want to wreak havoc on my laser for hours upon end with a Princo media either.
Thanks,
bran

Hi GregI! Metal Gear Solid 3 Subsistence is not a Double Layer game I have it. It is a 2 disc game.I have it done. Also for branmaz77 I don't know how long it will take you to get to the Freeze point on GOW.It depends on how many hours you play it staight. I think it took 2 days about 20 hours to get to the point of freeze. It's right at Pandora's bridge. That sucks.Well talk to you later Bra....

Thanks Wolf, 20 hours means Taiyo Yuden right out of the shoot for me, worth it by far, thanks a ton for taking the time to chime in.
