Hursty,

Rob868 is right. You gave me the same info about patches and that sight is banning anyone access. You still can d/l the patches, tho. My problem is I don't have the software recomended by their help link on how to patch. I don't have alcohol120%. So, with that in mind, how do you patch with DVDDecrypter, Nero, or even roxio cdcreator? I don't want to keep spending $$$$ for new software if what I have works.

By the way Hursty.... You are very helpful and seem to go to far reaches to help.... thanx

you cannot download patches from there without registering, lucky for me,i am a member, and have full access
not sure what you are talking about when you mention the tools you need to patch a game, the patching is usually done before you burn the game???

what game are you talking about, btw rob is sorted..:)

you do not NEED specifically alcohol 120,any software will do,as long it will burn the iso

for example for fifa street, this is how its done

the image is loaded onto the hardrive as an iso,
you open the patch(it will be a small app')
click "read me",
browse for the iso image,then
SCAN,select the region (pal/ntsc)job done,.......the iso has been patched
then you just burn it with whatever software you have,i.e dvd decrypter

swapmagicfix use alcohol 120 as an example of which software to use,it might aswell been dvd decrypter,it doesnt matter

I was originally trying to get a patch for Ratchet & Clank: Up your Arsenal, but I solved that problem by getting Swap Magic 3.6. It seemed Swap Magic 2.0 wasn't good enough. But I did download the patch for it, although the sight gave me the same message Rob got. I haven't come across any game SM 3.6 can't handle as of yet. If there are some that SM 3.6 and DVD Decrypter can't handle alone, keep us all posted.

Thanx

Hursty,

By the way, Tho I haven't searched the whole site, you are the 1st one to give me exactly the info I asked for. Everyone else tells me to go to ps2info.com and do it the way they say to.

Hello, duh, peeps. I already read that as stated in another thread. Anyway, thanx again.

Greetings, for 3 days i have been trying to backup my Sonic Heroes PS2 game...I think I have eveything all set (replaced dummy file and have game in folder following every step I have read in posts including the ISO Buster and creating new folder) except the part of getting Nero to burn. I have the Nero 6.6.0.14 but cant seem to get it to work. The post says

"Step 4.
Open up Nero burning rom and create a new UDF/ISO dvd (It's the last one in the list)."
well I open Nero and cant find anything saying UDF/ISO DVD and can't find the list. can someone write a step-by-step on how to open Nero and guide me to this? maybe I don't have a complete Nero? my Nero works but it has nothing that actually says "nero burning rom" just start smart and a few other stuff like Nero back it up Nero express ect...and i clicked on everything and nothing takes the rofts.cvm file and something else from my folder.

Also tried cd/dvd generator 1.5 keeps saying aspi ERRORS AND I CANT USE THAT EITHER. i HAVE READ MANY POSTS for days in my free time and am pulling out my hair!

I use latest version of Decrypter and successfully backed up simpsons hit and run and it plays no problem with MS 3.6 and fliptop.

If anyone can guide me I would be very gratefull for the help

fdc1970,

Sounds like you don't have the full Nero. I think you have the basic version that computer companies slap on hard drives to sell their product.

On the Nero that is being mentioned throughout the posts, your screen would have like a split window type thingy (thingy being a technical term - haha) and on the right is a list of icons, in which, the one they're talking about is at the bottom. If you had Nero 5.x, mine used to be UDF/ISO cd, instead of UDF/ISO dvd. Don't know why I through that info out, but anyway, if it doesn't say "burning rom", then you won't be able to follow their instructions.

I'm not much of a help, but at least I can tell you what not to do. I haven't tried Sonic Heros, so that's about all the help I can give , since you said you tried DVD Decrypter, you have MS 3.6, and you don't have Nero Burning ROM. Sorry. (I hate when I can't help).

I've heard so many different things. I want to get things straight. I have downloaded a ps2 game from the net. I extracted the rar file and got an iso file. Then I extracted files within the iso file. I overwrote the Dummy.dat file with a text file. I burned the files in order using Nero. Now do I still need a mod chip after all this or can I just play the game?

Question on rebuilding when I open a imgage of a new game called fantastic 4 in iso buster it shows on the left an iso and under it a udf. When you select the iso over on the right is shows files and folders and when you select the udf it shows the same files and folders only the sizes of the files and folders don't match. In the rebuild instructions is tells you to extract the files and folders to another folder. Well first of all which do you extract the files that are under the iso or the files under the udf? I extracted the files under the udf and total size dropped at least a gig from the original size of the total iso.

This method is not 100% effective

I have burned The Rumble Fish numerous times(in both regular and rebuilt forms)and have had no success.

I have been using Swap Magic Version 2.0 as well as DVDLoader v7 and the rebuilt reads as error and the regular just goes to a BSOD. Could the problem be the versions of these loaders? more help would be appreciated.

I have had simular poblems with other games. I noticed that other people have burned copies of the same game, and had no trouble. They were using the latest swap magic. So, I ordered it and haven't had problems yet.

So, in short, Yes you need the newer version of swap magic. I'm not saying that is the fix, but more than likely it is.

I'm currenlty downloading the Swap Magic 3.3, is the Swap Magic something I can simply just download and burn to use?

I'm guessing I will have ot do something along the lines of using my Swap Magic 2.0 to load up the 3.3 to load up my Rumble Fish.

thanks Az

ok so i've followed the instructions posted on how to "rebuild and burn ps2 games the easy way" So far, so good. My question is when i'm about to burn the disc with Nero, the instructions say to "name the image and burn it at 4x". What do i name the image? does that matter?

@ kongchris,

Just name it after the game. The only thing that matters is you know what it is and remeber what you call it, other than that, it doesn't matter.

has anyone had any luck rebuilding (pal) lma manager 2005? i followed all the instructions for rebuilding it (as a straight copy didn't work), and it still isn't working. not a valid ps2 disc is what swap magic 3.6 is saying. also, i burned it at 2x rather than 4x. does it HAVE to be burned at 4x?

Did you check for a dummy file? that could be the problem if rebuilding didnt work.
