the only thing that will be bigger on the ps3 is the price tag. i keep hearing that the 360 will be in trouble cause of lack of the next gen technology when it comes to the type of discs they are using but that has yet to be proven that it will be needed. im first to admit MS botched their lanuch but all consoles do,ps2 surely did and im quite sure ps3 will.i live in va and from i can see teh shortages are over, every electronics store ive been to has a decent stock in,not too much not too little. im not sure if they are being bought or just recieving low stock, either way they are avaible and they do have a high demand still from what i hear. the only place ive seen them heavily in stock is strangely wal-mart but they only have core issues.got off on a rant there but the point is the quality of the 360 and ps3 probably will be unnoticeable to the naked eye and they will have some diff features that are good and bad alike for both systems. MS is setting up a killer line-up of games and even reaching out to kids with viva-pinata due out later this yr. Sony's ONLY hold on MS has been games and im sad to tell u sony fans that wont be the case this time around. just look at the titles due out this yr, they just signed lionhead( makers of fable) to an exclusive licensing to make games only for pc and 360 and they have signed many other great companies to make exclusives.

ps3 games will be sixty for sure. 100%. and the n64 games i remember were $50.
But they all do sort of the same thing, and that is rearrange what you thought was real, and they remind you of the beauty of very simple things. You forget, because youre so busy going from a to z, that theres 24 letters in between... You turn on... tune in... and you drop out...

where did u get the inside track on the price that no one outside of sony knows? and if that is the case then they will be losing money on the only thing that will help them gain back profit after they lose money on the console and sony is doomed. if sony sells the console at 500 which is a little cheap they will be losing from has been reported $200 per console and need to sell 8 games per console to make their money back, now if the games are only $60 they wont be making much profit back. it doesnt make sense that they would hjave to up the price 20 bucks on dvd's but only $10 on the games.

@anubis, just read 3 to 4 diff articles and they all said ps1 games cost around $45 while n64 games were about $60. if you want the articles just let me know

what are you talking about? how would they be losing money? its not like producing bluray takes any more material or work to make, and its only a few % more in cost. all movies for the next gen will be expensive, they display in 1080i for HD-DVD and 1080p for bluray. the games for the 360 are the same price as the games will be on the ps3, its almost sure. its little to produce and it cant look like everything for ps3 is super pricey.

sounds good but not likely that the price will be same as 360 but like rabbity said niether of us truly know so we'll just have to wait til E3 and hopefully they will give some solid concrete information as to prices and release dates.I think MS has a good chance at taking this console war, more people than one would think will show interest in the revolution and that can steal some of the ps3's launch being as the revoulution will be launched at the same time MS is putting out the yr's best titles for ne console.

yh that is true with some really good games come ing out for the xbox 360 this year and the rev also releasing sony will have to have a good price, but its still obviouse that ps3 will win the war, it just depends on M$ how close they want to be.

yes neither of us know, but what to make you say it will be more? it would be a nail in sony's coffin. the disks, they are part owned by sony and they dont have to pay royalties on them. plus dvd makers and make the bluray disks aswell using the same slightly moddified machines.

they will get profit for their premium online, downloadable material, and accessories like remote and spare controls and extra cords and the eye toy. they will make a nice profit from gaming even if they would lose an extra dollar per game for bluray. even then so, wouldnt it be the developers loss? since they pay for material and sony approves it.

people complain that the 360's extra accesories cost too much im sure the bluetooth controllers for the ps3 will cost more than the 360's wireless controller.,people are forgetting that sony is the new kid on teh block when it comes to online type things and everyone is already to give thema little too much credit assuming that on their first go round it will compete with and /or defeat the giant MS has created is just complete unfounded nonsense.i mean it may look easy but sony fansa re already ruling that the ps3 online service cause it offers free online gameplay which i must admit is a great feature will be neck and neck with what made a name for ms in the gaming world. assured that its just so ieasy to have all the capabilties and assuming that sony will provide it at a low cost and no monthly fee.craziness i say

bluetooth is more fast and responsive than the rf the 360 contoller uses, yet is costs little more. there is a bluetooth 2 coming soon too. and imagine syncing your ps3 controller to your computer or pda for gaming and other stuff?

kinda of a needless upgrade that yet again is something sony is doing that will cost its customers. granted like you both said it is great and maybe a little more responsive but i doubt it will even be noticeable.truthfully i jsut cant wait until E3 so it will all hopefully be put out there, then after that i cant wait til it actually launches because as it now it has more hype than jesus shuttelsworth from the movie he got game. although jesus lived up to his potential(thank you ray allen) the ps3 has more expectations that of a fictional movie character.off topic,viva pinata looks strange and they referred to it being like aminal crossing,are those games actually fun?

MS should stick with making windows BETTER and NOT CRASH and NOT BE PRONE TO CRASHING :P . MS is widely renowned for windows. i reckonz they should stick with that market. i mean, A LOT of people use windows out there. THATS MORE THAN 10 PEOPLE :P (i duno y i said that... ). but yeah. i dont like the fact that MS didnt make their xbox backwards compatible. thats seems like a money hungry scheme their plotting (shouldnt be suprised... its MS). the games are obviously backwards compatible, cauz theyre the same format.
i like it that sony has ACTUALLY made changes with each and every console. PS1 has CD-ROM, flip top in the middle, ugly grey colour, 'memory blocks', and other small stuff i cant remember. PS2 has DVD-ROM (plus CD-ROM support for original games), slide out tray (and a flip top for the slim line), sorta nice black/silver colour, propre file sized memory card save files, expansion bay, and more stuff. basically its enhanced from the ps1. bad thing... no fan on the slim ps2, and the laser is more prone to dying :P . and sony didnt really utilise the expansion bay.
with the xbox 360, the only thing you can carry over is the games. well, thats what im aware of. its STILL using DVD-ROM. the original xbox controllers cant b used with the 360 (well, you wouldnt want to use the bricks :P ). but its got one hell of a good GPU. not a big fan of ATi, but dang >_< . if i had an xbox, itd double up as a good bench press ^_^ .
i cant really thing of any HELLA COOL games with xbox, but its got some goooooooooood multiplayer games. ill hand it to ya there, MS. sony sukz with multiplayer. i mean... multitap o_O wtF? but ps2 has real cool 1 player games ONLY on ps2 (DMC, FF, and so forth. those games i LUUUVV and only rememba).
dont know the FULL stats of each, but i kno these as facts. i like tihnkin in an unbiased way. hate it when people say: '360 RULES!!! SONY SUCK!!!' and they cant even back it up. nubz -_-'
sorry, but i must vent :P . sooooo many people jus support and not know what theyre supporting ^_^ . i like both, but i would prefer ps3, thanks

one company's reign and reputation will be eternally decided here. one of the 3 company's are going to fall from building consoles. i predict at about 30% this will be the last xbox, and i predict 80% this will be nintendos last console.
the 360 had so many issues at launch, it has no really wonderful all around games that you'll enjoy more than 2 months and poor poor load times.
and what can nintendo do? if they can compete with the big guys, and they go totally retro here, what is left? they cant have another retro console, and i doubt they will get the money off the rev to design a comparable system to that sony and ms can make.

if you think the xbox 360 is the same as the xbox 360 then you do not know much about it, and by saying that xbox 360 go on about the xbox 360 well i can say the same about the ps3 fanboys. you should do your resherch on xbox 360 before you say its basically crap. and i would back it up but i am at college at the momment.

u complain about the xbox 360 not having enough new editions and braggin that sony hanges something every new system they come out with. then quit braggin that things can be carried over from the older generations to the next gen consoles and quit b*tchin that the xbox 360 isnt fully backward compatiable if you want new changes.i may be crazy but i bought the 360 to play the new 360 games not old xbox games(maybe halo) sounds a little strange this i know but hey call me crazy. i would assume ur buying the ps3,so play these suppsed great games that sony has over MS and their shouldnt be a need to bring old games to the next gen if as all sony fans say is true and sony has better games and will have better games in the next gen as well.i cant stand how a sony fan gets on here and bashes a fan of whatever company then hypocritically mocks them by saying that Ms fans are the ones who use the terms fans boys and etc. what u just wrote was equivalent to that. it was just a few minor facts surrounded by ur bias opinons, then ur fans just cheered u on after that.i'll admit im bias towards teh 360 because as i said before ps2 was horrible for me,it broke four 3 times and i knew at least ten otheres who had he same issue. Truthman even said he had an aquaintance who ecxperienced the same issues i did,maybe its just random because in the end sony sold more thean MS but i stick to a system that works for me. it looks great,has some good,bad, and great games with some really great games ahead in the near future. so after this come one come all sony fans...rip me apart!
