Please read my previous posts. If you disable "Continually insert SPS/PPS" in tsMuxeR, then you should have no problems using FF/REW. This seems to only affect M2TS output. Whenever I output Blu-ray, I can leave that option enabled and seeking still works fine.

hey ecdesign,
If you're trying to incorporate a srt sub file into a m2ts file it will not work with the PS3. However if you can create a Blu-Ray structured file the srt file is compatible with the PS3, I've tried it and it works great.
One problem I ran into, the sub title source was from a DVD (480p) and the video source was from an HDTV broadcast (720p)so the resolutions were mis-matched... the timing was an easy fix, I used Subtitle Workshop to convert the srt file from 29.97fps -->23.976fps. The tricky part was the subs were displayed partially offscreen and very large, I'm pretty sure this can be fixed in the the latest version of tsMuxeR under the subtitle tab, use the Vertical Pixel offset and obviously the font size can adjusted.
One other thing, during playback on the PS3 the subs did not display automatically, they had to be turned on.
Hope this helps.

You will need to convert the audio to Dolby Digital (AC3). You can use BeLight to do this. 6 channel @ 640Kbs is recommended.
If you need further explanation please just ask. :-)

Thanks Ryu. Have tried Belight. It seemed Belight don't support my aac audio as input file. Any other suggestion? Thanks again

Hi Ryu,
Hope all is well. I tried out the new tsmuxer 1.8.4b and successfully watch movies with subtitles through Blu Ray structure and burning them with Nero UDF 2.5 method. The problem is like you've said before I do not want to watch movies from A DVD recordable media. And subs do not work with m2ts files. Do you know if there is a way to trick Blu-Ray with either a thumb drive or external hard disk? I do not know if you only put the Blu-Ray structure as only files in a thumb drive would it work? Thanks a lot for your comments in advance...

Yes, there is. Create a folder on your external media (USB drive, external HDD etc.) named "AVCHD". Then put the "BDMV" and "CERTIFICATE" folders in there and all should be good! :-)
Also, you will need to name all files to the 8.3 format. There is a tool that can automate this for you.
Here it is: http://www.mediafire.com/?ywt2wysnzb1
Just place that application in your AVCHD folder and run it from there.

That's strange. Did you download the BeSweet.exe and instructed BeLight where it is?
Another option could be to use FFMPEG through MeGUI but the highest bitrate allowed through this combination is 448Kbs. I prefer to use 640Kbs.

You need to make sure that the video stream is highlighted (press the mouse cursor on the video stream), then that option will appear.

If you don't have a video file loaded you will not see this feature.
1. Load your video (mkv, h264, mpeg)
2. In the "tracks" window highlight the elementary video stream
3. Right beside where you change the AVC level (from 5.1-->4.1), right above where you select the output format (.ts, .m2ts, Blu-Ray, demux) there is a option to "Continually insert SPS/PPS" with a check box beside it.
If your desired file is m2ts make sure this is UNCHECKED, if Blu-Ray is you preference keep it CHECKED. This should help your seeking issues.
BTW, Ryu live is Australia, he is +10 hours GMT, so when it is 5pm, 4/29 EST (NYC/Toronto) then it is 8am, 4/30 where Ryu lives... so be patient if he doesn't answer within what seems to be a reasonable timeframe. He also works a helluva-lot.
Cheers, hope this helps!

Subtitles Question
My source is a Matroska container which includes a subtitles track that when extracted has a .ASS extension. I downloaded Subtitle Workshop, set the FPS to 23.976 (it stated 29.97 in Subtitle Workshop, source was HD-DVD rip) and then saved the subtitles as a .SRT file.
In TSMuxer 1.8.4(b) I added three streams:
1. Video Stream
2. Audio Stream
3. Subtitle File
Cut output to 25 mins (just testing at this stage), output for Bluray and burned output structure to DVD as UDF 2.50.
Now the movie plays back fine in terms of audio/video, and the PS3 recognises there is a Subtitle track, however no subtitles actually appear when I turn on subtitles...
Anything above I am missing out or doing wrong?

Interesting,
I have successfully created a file with working subs similar to the method you stated, although I did not have to convert .ass-->.srt. That might be the issue.
If you're playing your video on the PS3 you need to turn the subs on as they will not play automatically.

Just to verify, you press the Option button whilst the movie is playing, and then select the Subtitle option to toggle subtitles on/off correct?

Yes, while the movie is playing press the triangle button, find the subtitle icon then press the X button to turn them on/off.

I found a couple of issues with the SRT file that was generated from the ASS file:
1. The first 10 subtitles were duplicated from the end of the movie
2. One of the subtitles had an extra line break between two lines of text
Removing both of the above fixed the issue and I now have working subtitles...

Hello all,
I've been following this thread for some time...
I have a file downloaded as a .m2ts but is simple isn't showing on the PS3 (I stream it via PC... Other files such as MPG, AVI, WMV appear and play fine)
What am I doing wrong?
Thank you :)
